actually, i like the 65/VT20 and still working out on the budget and other subsidized arrangements like eating roti canai for the next one year

i must admit though the 60'' GT30 or 55/VT30 is very tempting but may not be available here at all .

i am getting quite obsessed with black levels figures lately but can live with the V20 which is a very good TV by itself . i have a 42" V20 as my bedroom set and watch it under controlled lighting and is always impressed with it.

i have not seen any floating black or rising black on my V20 , absolutely love Panny V

Skip one family overseas vacation for the year and you already can get the 65VT30. After that, pacify your family with some 3D Bluray movies. Or impress them with the 3D Astro Premier League soccer biggrin.gif

Agree. No regrets so far with the V20.

halloww guys..
im nub here.
my family got this viera type TH-L32X10X,, other then watching local channel theres nothing my parents actually do with it, so i was wondering whether i can get them HD mediaplayer so that there is actually good quality HD movies that they can watch instead of off-ratio static-enabled local channels..

is this type compatible with any HDMP? it mean that i need hdmi cable to connect my viera with HDMP rite?

media player is capable of 1080p, can connect to any HDTV just fine via HDMI cable

it also got composite video output so you can even connect it to CRT TV, the screen quality is surprisingly good

You may need to do some research if you utilizing Viera Link function. Some of Media Player may distrub Viera Link due to HDMI Pin 13 (CEC Comunication Channel).

Else, if you are not concern of Viera Link Functions, then you can get any Media Player since most of them support 1080P.

I've purchase TH-P42V20K from a retailer in petaling jaya.
The seller claims that this unit is brand new unopen box.
But then, after I take this TV home, I found out that is unit had
a run time of 120+ hours and 30 over counts.
What you guys think? Need to voice out??
Thank you.

R u looking specifically for a 3d Tv.. cause I notice that u quote the vt20 series. Anyway, if 3D tv, should avoid the 2010 model. 2011 model has a less crosstalk/ghosting issues. (I dont own one, but read the review from the net)
Read it here http://www.trustedreviews.com/panasonic-vi...0gt30_TV_review

2011 3d model for plasma, entry level ST30, mid GT30, high VT30
One of the reviewer also commented that the ST30 3d performance is better compared to VT20... in a way, if 3d is ur main criteria, can go for st30.. if want some additional function gt30.. if want more additional function vt30...

Oh yeah.. heads up.. the new 2011 3d spec design is ugly... heheheh

The VT30 seems to a really full fledged display from Panasonic.

2 point + 10point greyscale
10point gamma
Full 3D CMS for primary and secondary

Also separate memories for 2D and 3D calibration. Black levels of 0.0035ft/L. I measured 0.005ft/L for the VT20, so its an improvement.

I am looking forward to calibrating one.

and thats only for the 42" version . the blackk levels for the 50 to 65'' panel should be more impressive but still not expected to beat the Kuro 9 .

the VT30 is going to be very expensive but there are meant for the enthusiasts and elites.

The Pannys are not known to hv better black levels on bigger displays (its the Sammys that behave that way).

it dosent bother me, because the pq is damn nice and there is no burn mark on it. If I have a new unit, do I need to conserve the unit for the first 150+ hour? And what's the best settings on this model watching blu ray?
Thanks
