well, to each of his own. View it constructively or just view it as I'm scaring the younger generation away.

Another way of looking at it, learn it now or learn it later. I would choose to learn it now and be prepared for it.

No objection, indeed learning from now and be prepared is not a bad move.

So far I can only realised one thing which is when I come back to this country one day , learn and be prepared to face harsh people and harsh environment. Maybe this is the way how people react and speak in this country which I still cant see a point why it must be like this. blush.gif

Anyway cheers for the suggestions and thoughts, appreciated.

Malaysia cannot be compared to wherever you are (I think UK ? mentioned in earlier post?). Working in Asian related countries, you are always expected to work hard (Our auditors in Malaysia sometimes work 70 - 80 hours a week or more).

Politics exist everywhere even in the country you are in right now (maybe not so extreme but it still exists). It depends on how smartly you play the game. Hence why some people say street smarts is more important than book smarts.

Not all industries are that scary though.

i dunno bout everyone else ... but i think 2.8k for a fresh grad is very high ...

in fact most will get 2.2 - 2.4k and this applies to most field ...

and to get 3.5k ... thats seriously high ...

I dont know about you people encouraging youngsters out there.

Myself would nt say things like this to youngsters. Everyone knows the fact working is not easy, but at least letting youngsters begin the career and learn all the way with confidence. Sharing experience to youngsters is fine, but depressing them at 1st before they even have the chance to experience it. . I think that is not quite a right way.

Anyway, that's just my thought, again I do not mean to challenge anyone in here.

successful youngsters don't come here to get encouraged

they work their butts off to equip themselves with sufficient skills to bargain for a good offer in the market..

Whatever you wanna say, I have said all my saying was purely to understand the working environment in this country, and didnt mean to challenge or show inrespect to anyone. That is just my own disappointment.

I dont see doh.gif this icon is offending anyone, if this icon really does, it should have been removed by mod. Just feel sorry to see this situation and what could be more upset is it all happen like it should be .. lol

Anyway, I am gonna make a stop here just to prevent more people misunderstand.

Indeed.

I don't know why people like to share it in a harsh tone. Can't it be an active way to coach one another? Why does it must be a harsh tone? I know some people would take advantage of you if you are not firm in your view but this doesn't suit every one.

I admire those "60s" and "70s" people's professionalism, but for sure I will not take them as example to improve my interpersonal skill.

One who can't adapt different communications skills to different people isn't that great in my eyes at all.

Malaysia can't compare to european countries, doesn't mean Malaysia culture is RIGHT.

Don't you think giving someone guidance in an active way would show better impact on him? Active guidance is always look at the strengths and talents one has, there then the person will gain confidence and acknowledgement of themselves. Sad to say, what I have seen here are all about passive comment, which is maximizing the "mistakes" and "weaknesses" one has. You want others to point out your every mistake and not to look at what brilliant jobs you have done? Why always view a life from a passive angle?

I never once mentioned that Malaysia culture is RIGHT. You are assuming. I was just explaining that this is how Malaysia is. There is no right and wrong in each countries culture. Its just who we are.

Like I said, for my points, view it constructively or take it as I'm scaring youngsters away. Each person views things differently. Some would like to face the worst case scenario and prepare for it and avoid it.
