Job Title : senior c# .net web developer Age: 30 Job Description : debugging, development, QA, documentation, coordination Years spent in company : Going to to be 5 years Experience before joining: 2 years Company : Local company exclusively outsourced from US Location: PJ Industry : IT/ Software in Enterprise Asset Management in SaaS model. Tenure : permanent
salary : RM 4.9+ 200 allowance benefits: medical claim+insurance+ car park provided + dental claim increments : 5-7% (no promotion) promotion >10-20% bonus: contractual 1 month , quarter bonus (less than RM800)
Is this consider under paid ? Feel no room to grow as the HQ started to outsource projects to vendors in India or other Europe countries. Thus Malaysia team is not being expanded over 2 years. Chances get promoted to Architect level is kind of low. This is away from my initial career plan.

QUOTE(azrink @ Mar 20 2011, 03:31 AM) Job Title: Operation Manager (Sea Water Desalination Plant) Age: 37 Job Description : Mobilize O&M Team. Supervise Daily Plant Operation. Years spent in company : 10 months Exp before joining : 11 Years 2 Month Company : SG MNC Industry : Utility (Water) Tenure : permanent Location: Algeria / Singapore Basic salary : RM19K x 13 Month Salary per year excluding bonus
I see that some of you are very lucky. When I freshly started to work, I was paid rm908 only. After EPF etc .. dapat la RM890. Nowadays RM4.5K for fresh graduate. wow.
All I can advise is. try to focus on the field you are in to. If you in to automotive/IT/etc, try to focus on the same career path. Yes, The first 5-6 yrs the salary might not be as rewarding as those who like to swap job frequently but as you gain more experience, the industry would notice your capability and in the end the waits is rewarding. Yang bulat tu tidak datang bergolek. It took almost 11yrs for me to get where I am now. I know some got it even faster then me but never give up. That is all I can say. Only my 2cents. Salam
We are in the same industry.....i guess you are working for Hyflux You are complaining it took you 11 years. It took me 27 years to get there. Of course i work in Malaysia, not Singapore.....so in SGD will be $7800 approx......but if thats in Sing, its not much?

There are having a few Algerian projects going-on rite now and they require some Managers over there. I heard from a fren who has just resigned recently, they willing to pay up to SGD20K (RM48K) per month if you prepared to be stationed in countries like Algeria for 3 years. After 3 years, just back to Malaysia and buy a semi-D + BMW 5 series paid fully in cash... then confirm many pretty girls will be around you that time. Anyone in medical sales? I'm an 'old-timer' but just for interest sake, it would be interesting to see current salary and incentive schemes. I am quoting 2002 rates since I left the industry after that:
Position: Medical Sales Rep
Type of industry: usually multinational in pharmaceutical, medical and hospital supplies.
Level: Entry level, preferably graduates in similar fields like pharmaceutical, engineering, sience or bio background.
Month Wages: Typically RM2500 - 3000 pm
Bonus: 1 month
Incentives: various schemes but usually upon achieving sales targets you get between RM5000 - RM15000 a year. Targets go up every year so in time it gets quite difficult to achieve!
Petrol allowance : RM400 - RM800
Mobile phone bills (business related can be claimed).
Multinationals usually pay better than local based companies. In my time job prospects were excellent, progression is quick if you are a high achiever but the demands can be very challenging.
