Newbie here. Loving all the tips I'm picking up from all the past topics. Feeling a bit panicky coz I'm planning to have my "new" condo renovated. Place I bought is old, not in good shape so pretty much have to do the whole thing. Even some of the built-ins I thought could salvage may need new ones (gulp!).

Don't really even know where to start. Is there another foum topic for that? I googled and came straight to this thread.

And darn, I missed the sale for tiles. sad.gif

Im quite confuse with my quotation by 2 contractors, the price are so much different. would like to know whether what are the reasonable price in the market now.

Contractor A:

Price sqf or ft Rate
Skirting
Living 300 120 2.5
Master 142.5 57 2.5
Bed1+2 132.5 53 2.5

To supply labour to lay 600mm x 600mm homogeneous
floor tiles c/w cement screeding (tiles by owner)

Living 4200 600 7
Master 1260 180 7
Bed1+2 2170 310 7

Demolishing existing tiles
Living 2400 600 4
Master 720 180 4
Bed1+2 1240 310 4

Total RM 12,565

Contractor B

Floor+Skirting+demolishing+tiles

Price
Living 6102
Master 2835
Bed1+2 4914

Total RM13,851 (lump sum)

rclxub.gif why different so much ? Contractor B including tiles while Contractor A doesnt. May I know whats the market price now ?

I look at the thread before, the range +-5 right? contractor A seems like over quote, which is 7+4+ 2.5 without tiles...

I also need other contractor for this, appreciate if you guys can share some good sifu contact here smile.gif Thanks.

Most of our "local" branded tiles are imported from China.. so its already "export" grade... How does that fit in this statement???

i bought 2' x 2' grade A tiles from whitehorse earlier this month (direct from warehouse in selayang), out of 30 boxes (4 tiles each), about 4 tiles had minor defects that i couldn't bother returning back to them (had to return the entire box).. those tiles were made in malaysia, presumably the same for export?

those were clearance tiles going for rm12 each
