QUOTE(mygarage88 @ Jun 3 2012, 12:04 AM)
Im quite confuse with my quotation by 2 contractors, the price are so much different. would like to know whether what are the reasonable price in the market now.

Contractor A:

        Price    sqf or ft    Rate
Skirting
Living 300        120    2.5
Master 142.5 57    2.5
Bed1+2 132.5 53    2.5

To supply labour to lay 600mm x 600mm homogeneous
floor tiles c/w cement screeding (tiles by owner)

Living 4200          600      7
Master 1260          180      7
Bed1+2 2170          310      7

Demolishing existing tiles
Living 2400          600    4
Master 720          180    4
Bed1+2 1240          310    4

Total  RM 12,565
Contractor B

Floor+Skirting+demolishing+tiles

          Price
Living 6102
Master 2835
Bed1+2 4914

Total  RM13,851 (lump sum)

rclxub.gif  why different so much ? Contractor B including tiles while Contractor A doesnt. May I know whats the market price now ?

I look at the thread before, the range +-5 right? contractor A seems like over quote, which is 7+4+ 2.5 without tiles...

I also need other contractor for this, appreciate if you guys can share some good sifu contact here smile.gif Thanks.

Sifu's - I just got a quote of RM 20 per sqft to install tiles including supply of labour, susu, cement etc.. I only have to supply tiles. The RM 20 is for laying tiles in my wet kitchen (including skirting) and also to lay pebble wash on my patio area.
For my dry kitchen to do cemenr flooring (cos this is an extension) he is charging RM 10 per sqft. What do you all think of the price? Fair?

Hi all,
I am planning to change all my tiles for my 2 storey house (excluding toilet) in another 2 weeks.

Living hall : 350 sq ft
Kitchen : 90 sq ft
1st floor : 470 sq ft
Stair case : 5 steps

Been quote from 3 contractor so far, the work including hacking, and install new tiles with all the necessary materials (sand, etc. I just prepare the tiles)

Contractor A (Indonesian contractor, did some reno work for me last year) : 7000+
Contractor B (Local contractor) : 8200 (After discount)
Contractor C (Local contractor): 9200 (Haven't discount)

Saw some threads before the market rate is around RM5 per sq ft, but base on quotation I got, it seems to be RM7-RM10 per sqft. Is it because of I only do small renovation?

Appreciate your prompt feedback, Thanks.
