QUOTE(unknown warrior @ Apr 4 2012, 12:18 AM) Oh I did. But my hands were on her shoulder instead.I was reprimanded by a more "Senior" Christian who said it's best to leave this to a female "leader" to do prayer for "female" follower although we have the same holy spirit unless the "Preacher" is a male then he's allowed to lay hands on a female. I was like in my mind "huh ? then how did Jesus first minister to females? he must be a girl then in order to do this ?" |

QUOTE(fghvbn @ Apr 4 2012, 02:45 AM) Oh I did. But my hands were on her shoulder instead. Normally laying of hand are pointed directly to the person and you don't have to necessary touch anyone. I was reprimanded by a more "Senior" Christian who said it's best to leave this to a female "leader" to do prayer for "female" follower although we have the same holy spirit unless the "Preacher" is a male then he's allowed to lay hands on a female. I was like in my mind "huh ? then how did Jesus first minister to females? he must be a girl then in order to do this ?" It can be done from a distance and still be effective. I do pray for Male and Female and most of the time I do it from a distance without touching. This actually have to do with the Flesh. And if you suspect as to why, yes it also has to do with temptations of the flesh. Physical contact is after all very personal space for some. Some people, even a normal pat on the back, they are overwhelm in emotions. Girls are emotional creatures. Best not to arouse any potential "whatever". The scripture did mention that even a bad thought about somebody is equivalent to murder. Why? Because from thoughts, it give birth to consequential effects that leads to actions. That is why Jesus says if your hands cause you to steal, it's better to chop it off. Jesus is speaking figuratively to cut off your thoughts before anything happens. QUOTE 1 John 3:15 Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him. Although this sounds kinda extreme, but all scripture is God inspired and it is the truth. Don't feel bad or discourage, give yourself time, you will come to see the understanding of it as you mature. Leaders are God appointed and they have been given authority to pray, to bless, etc. Yes in that sense they pray for all. But even their laying of hands are normally done on the head, no where else. But you notice most Preachers or Leaders are of aged and they are experience. The scripture says QUOTE 1 Peter 5:5-6 This scripture is basically saying we are to submit to Church Elders and Leaders because they are ordained by God.Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. But if you humble yourself by being obedient, God will raise you up to a higher position to minster to others. God is indeed looking for the right candidate who can stay in the spot light and yet not get burned. Humble yourself. I hope the explanation helps. P.S: I'm not saying you cannot pray and intercede for a girl. Just do it in a group of believers and as above, stretch your hands without contact. God Bless. Anyway my intentions were pure and I did it with other group of believers around so.... yeah anyway I still feel it's a little too strict. It's as if saying that "if I touch any girl, I will feel sexually arouse" or like you said "the girl will feel emotional". Gosh |

Night Devotion.
Evidence for Jesus We all know that Michael Jackson was a real person in history because most of us seen him on Television, His Albums, His Biography, etc. The younger generation might not know him but if they ever come across his album, they just might be intrigue to know what's so special about him. But What about after 2000 years later? That's about 200 decades. Will his legacy live on to tell his existence? IF somebody preserve his records, yes. He will be remembered for his music. What about Jesus Christ then? Sceptics argued that Jesus only "exist" in the Bible. One of the underlying assumptions is that Christians created the Bible and that makes it untrustworthy. Consider then these several ancient non-Christian sources that confirm the facts about Jesus Christ. Best part is, many of these writers were hostile to Christianity. Cornelius Tacitus - Cornelius Tacitus was a Roman historian. Tacitus refers to Christ in the Annals, which he wrote in 115 AD. Thallus - Thallus in 52 AD, wrote a history of the Eastern Mediterranean world from the Trojan War to his day. He referred to Jesus in Julius Africanus, Chronography 18.1 Pliny the Younger - Pliny was the governor of Bythnia in Asia Minor. His letters testify of Christ being worshipped as God. Gaius Seutonis Tranquillas - Seutonis was the chief secretary to Emperor Hadrian (117-138 AD). He wrote that Christ was the reason for Christ was the reason for the Jewish and Roman riots. Lucian - Lucian was a second century Greek satirist. He spoke very negatively of Christians and an account of Christ being crucified. Celsus - Celsus was a Roman Philosopher who wrote a work in 177 AD, criticizing the Christians who worshipped a Man. Flavius Josephus (37-97 AD) - Josephus was a member of the Pharisees who became a historian for the Roman Empire and wrote a detail account of Jesus. Talmud - The Jewish Talmud records the oral traditions of the Jews. This compilation began in the first century AD and was completed by 200 AD. In Sanhedrin 43, a reference is made of Christ. Dear Friends, by these non Christian account, it's hard to accept that Jesus was a myth. It's beyond a shadow of doubt, He is real and was recorded in history. Their writings testify and complements the writing of the scripture in the Bible. If He's REAL then we need to considered ALL that transpired about what Jesus says about himself. Jesus says He is the only way to God and He says it with unswerving firm authority. QUOTE John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If his words challenges your belief today. Perhaps, He is the one you are looking for all your life. God Bless.
