My lap Specifications
Intel i7-2630QM with turbo boost
NVIDIA 540GM 2GB
6GB DDR3

The question - are this temperatures normal for i7 cpu and could it damage my lap?

Thanks

Added on June 10, 2011, 1:28 amcan anyone confirmed that the latest batch of 5750G Core i5 version is using SATA 3?

http://download.gigabyte.asia/FileList/Uti...a_check.exe.ZIP - Download this to check =)

and post the results...might want to buy this instead of the TimelineX 4830T because of the removable battery...

SATA3 = 6Gb/s

5750G is 15.6''
14'' would be 4750

Meaning that your laptop is SATA3 Enabled on the HDD and SATA 2 (3gbps) Enabled on the CD/DVD Drive, thus you can upgrade to SATA 3 (6gbps) SSD/HDD (Solid-state Drive/Hard-Disk Drive)

Thanks for clarifying ^^,

By the way about the Heat Issue, of course 3rd-Party coolerpad solves the solution by bringing more intake to cool down the system =)

but dont expect the bluee LED plastic cooler works effectively.
if u can, always invest in a good aluminium cooler for your beloved laptop.

I am using this blue led plastic cooler and I am still having temperatures like 80-90°C.
Can you make more test with your Cooler Master U3. 1-2hours of gaming and monitoring temperatures? smile.gif

1hr of gaming my max temperature is 72 degrees with my U3 fan running between 50%-60% speed.
Previously i set my fan speed at maximum and the temperature is 66 degrees.

It's nice. (Are you monitoring temp all the time in background?) ? Do you have all 3 fans at left side (side where is the notebook cooler) ? I am thinking about buying this cooler. Are you satisfied with this cooler ? smile.gif

yes. i run CPUID at the background during gaming.
1 fan directly under the ventilation vent,1 fan just below the first fan near the RAM compartment. 1 fan beside the 1st fan.
speed between 50-60%.
Yes i am satisfied with U3. I highly recommend this cooler to anyone who is having second thought abt it.

just testing the cooler at max speed during gaming.max temp is 68.
i guess u can expect a temperature difference between 4-6degrees between max speed and 50-60% speed.

nvidia is off. as i said, the discharge rate fluctuates. the highest rate is 18W and average is around 10W-12W. BTW, is 10W-12W a normal rate?
*
Normal for second batch, first batch is really battery saver, consumes only around 8 watts, plus minus.

I just reformatted my lappy due to BSOD i encountered after installing Windows 7 update from Windows site. I believe the update us Service Pack one. Im not quite sure why it gives me BSOD and completely corrupted my OS as my Windows failed to load after the BSOD.
BTW, my BIOS is v1.10 as i already changed the mobo in highpoint

btw guy if you run some processor stress test without notepad cooler how fast you reach on 80°C ? Because after 5 sec I have 70°C and after 10 sec i have 80°C. And when I stopped stress test after 10 sec it is again 50°C. I think there must be something wrong with thermal paste or sensors. Sometimes it jump from 45 to 60 for 2sec. I think it is physically impossible.
