the motherboard will be available on April if im not mistaken as i read it from other users who already contacted Acer Highpoint.It might takes 2-3 days after inspection depending on availability

u can send now but they will probably have to hold your laptop until the spare parts is available.

no i guess. i never upgrade my bios unless i have some problems.i have downloaded the new bios but i havent installed it yet.lol

as early as March but will reach full production on April or May.u have to wait for another 2 months to be save.

u shud install 64bit OS and see if the problem still occuring.
my 5750G never gives me problem

this is exactly why i never update my BIOS unless something is wrong with my laptop.

try installing a 64bit OS and see if the problem still persists

I just called Acer Highpoint, the customer service representative told me that we can make decisions the latest by 15th April.I just leave my contact details so that they can call me when the necessary chipset or product replacement has arrived. Im torn between option 1 and option 2. Product swap(option 2) is currently not availabe as 5750G is their best model with SB chipset.

that one i dont know.maybe 1-2 weeks i guess as i didn't ask them.maybe i'll ask when they call me later when the replacement has arrived.
lemon product or not that is the risk we have to take.well,its up to you whether u want to swap or not.if we replace the mobo there is also no guarantee that they will use original product and not lemon product.
by swapping it mean u can swap for the same price model or higher one but u have to top up the price difference if im not mistaken

i will just wait.if the swap option takes weeks i might as well just change the mobo.

try removing all the bloatware, broken registry and old system restore point.u can do this by using CCleaner. Then you can defrag ur lappies using Defraggler. This works on my 5750G.Now it is good as new.

all stocks has been recalled by acer due to the SB issues.If u want SB laptop u might have to wait for another month or two before they rolling the new model with fixed SB chipset.
previously this laptop is priced between 2700-2899 depending on the option offered by various shops

Added on March 17, 2011, 2:28 pmI've called Acer Highpoint, they say for mobo replacement it will takes 1 working day.
For the swap option it will takes 3-4 working days and you will have to return ur old laptop for inspection and verification.
Both shipment shud be around in 1-2 weeks time.

yes.they told me that the replacement parts and models will arrive in 1-2 weeks.
Mobo change will takes 1 day while laptop swap will takes 3-4 working days depending upon the inspection outcome.
You can register with acer so that they will call you and they will ask about what option will you choose.

atm the parts arrival has been delayed slightly.

Just got a call from Acer Highpoint HQ, the replacement parts and replacement laptop has arrived.Kindly return the affected laptop to Acer Highpoint of your convenience for inspection and replacement depending on your chosen option.

I enquired about the swapping laptop option and the lady told me that it will take 1 business day. I don't know the truth behind this claim but yeah, you can always verify it with the Highpoint of your choice.

**Please bring along the proof of purchase and the original box(if possible)
