Yeap, another dlink router. but the unifi itself disconnects. my voip disconnects also.

your RG aka huawei vdsl gateway problem ? over heat ? possible ? cause i use to have that similar kind of problem

i solve it by stacking the RG at 45" so the bottom got some airflow

I guess TM capped my line at 100kB/s because it doesn't go any higher than that and when I stopped the download at one side, the other increases and remain constant. Once I repeat back the same thing, the other will fill up the remaining few kB.

That doesn't look good.

Anyone here using Alcatel Lucent I-240G-P ?
TM install this instead of huawei today.

My default equipment are so far so good.
My notebook using wifi had been running for 5hours without disconnecting or any problems. Hope this last forever.

If everything runs smoothly, that would be great.

Just installed UniFi VIP20... The fellers asked for 300 because they have to climb up the roof to install my modem on the 1st Floor... Yish, called their manager and stuff and end up paying 200 =.=
At least they did a pretty good job....
Btw, anybody facing low download speed from Filesonic? (30-50 kb/s)
*
why do you pay when the RM200 installation fee is free

Lower is better.

all,
some servers are still sluggish or slow, but they've all improved a good bit the last 1-2 hours for me. Still short of full performance though. I hate it when something breaks during the weekend (anywhere and anything) as it always ends up taking longer to get fixed (or noticed).

Got about 3kB/s on this test on this server this morning, much better now. VIP5.

Crucially it says up to rm200. I had alot of extras done myself also as I hate cheap installs of anything especially after noting how terrible some of the no-extras installs of my neighbours. One of my neighbours came around and asked the contractor how come mine was so much neater lol!

Huawei BTU seems more commonly installed?

My unifi VIP5 which was just installed few weeks ago is using the Cambridge Industries BTU (white colour with TM logo at the top right corner); I don't know how common it is but the technician told me it is a newer one

I second this.. it was running HOT!
i was scared on the third day when I touched the modem to check the temperature...

And week after that, the DSL went dead.. after thorough check, nothing wrong at the cabling. Thing went back to normal when they swapped new HUawei modem.

Right after that, I bought a cheap laptop cooling pad (RM6 only) and put them on top of it. Both devices are now running cool smile.gif

the installer gave me alcatel as well. but i have to use my own wifi router as AP since the dlink only able to reach 4-5Mbps speed.

That is what they claimed. Today the contractor came, saw my house, and suggested to install the wiring thru the roof also, quoted me RM300!! I said screw it, just drill thru the wall and plonk the stuffs on the floor.
