Just installed UniFi VIP20... The fellers asked for 300 because they have to climb up the roof to install my modem on the 1st Floor... Yish, called their manager and stuff and end up paying 200 =.=
At least they did a pretty good job....
Btw, anybody facing low download speed from Filesonic? (30-50 kb/s)
*
why do you pay when the RM200 installation fee is free

Anyone knows how to login into the Huawei HG850a BTU recent installs? I think they changed the password or something.. telecomadmin/admintelecom no longer works. Also the web interface login is only accessible for a short while after the BTU boots up. After that it becomes inaccessible (failed to connect). TM may have toughened up the security.

I'd like to know also

There's ip access firewall being activated. It blocks access from internal port or the range of 192.168.100.*

That's the reason you are able to access to web/ssh for a sec and it gets blocked.

I wonder does anyone have fiber switch? Perhaps we can access from another interface? or has anyone opened up this Huawei modem and look for terminal access?
*
Then you guys dont access it and tweak stuffs?

i havent get my unifi yet, tomorrow they'll come to install. Just like the Router Modem we have for streamyx, we can access the control panel page, takkan UNIFI we cant?

sigh... damn bad luck man

yesterday tech guy came, checked the signal at the phone pole, good. then proceed with cabling and drilling. check the signal at the end of the fibre, still good.

proceed with modem, etc installation... ended up the modem cant get connected to the internet. they troubleshoot for 2 hours and then called TM to find out why. TM called back and told them that the fibre box at the phone pole is not really connected to the internet. Something like streamyz open port.

TM can even ping the box but it's not connected. They'll come over to check but they didnt even give me any reference number.

apparently, i'm the first person to use that box in my area

Ouch... I'd be kind of pissed off at tmnet if that happened to me.
*
What can i do? lol it's not like i'm already paying for the services

QUOTE(jehutyz @ Mar 9 2011, 01:11 PM)
Yes but I still can register online due to the info in the database is wrong so it said not under coverage. Well TM just called me and they can help me register online but now I got another question regarding my existing phone line.

Yesterday I went to TM asked, as can I keep my existing phone line to install UniFi. I think they mistaken what I mean. As I know UniFi will have new number, but can I use back my existing number instead of the new one. So if I have a new one, then every month I still need to pay the rental for my existing number for nothing since I have the UniFi phone that can call for free. Any idea for those already installed.

Thanks.
*
no you wont be able to keep old number onto Unifi's VOIP.

Happened to me too. Signal at the pole was about 18 ( not sure what measurement ), signal in the house was about 19. They said it's considered pretty good. Anything above 27 the BTU will not be able to connect. After connecting everything, the link light still blinks. Apparently, TM has not established the connection on their side. They promised that it would be up on that day itself, and I should only sign off once it's up. Took TM another 2 hours before the link is up.
*
at least you have it done after 2 hours. my drilling and cabling starts from 1030 and finished at 3, then the contractor was trying to get connected up until 4+pm only he called TM... so god knows when TM will go and have a look and get back to the technicians to set up another appointment with me. sad.gif

my reading at the distribution point was 16.4, then at the end of the fiber b4 the modem it was 16.8.. damn shiok at first but cannot get connected doh.gif

It is good reading.
Mine only get 18-19.

At first, it showed 50-60,  shocking.gif
After clean the fibre with alcohol, and make a new connector (Fibre end), reading was 18-19.
*
yea, damn good as what they said but the distribution point is still not connected. lol

called them and i cant get any help from tech support since i'm not connected yet. i can only call Sales to get my updates, so they say

memang wtf situation. already raised a report and they did call me back to say they'll check what's wrong. I'll give them until friday before i submit a report to MCMC.

Previously i have to submit a complaint to MCMC about UNIFI just to have them fix my closed-port issue after waiting for almost 4 weeks

lol

Rattan is happy with his connection

those who got back the speed they want during midnight around 2-3am is normal. what pisses some ppl is that when it's night time around 7pm onwards, the speed will start to drop to below 1mb and that's prime time when ppl come back from work to use the net.
