Just to share, around 21st Jan, I called in the CS tel number provided by a forummer here (hye/gen-X/or another, forgot, sorry). to apply for MBB-2-CC , as I'm lazy to submit/fax docs again, since I hold both Amex Gold credit card and Petronas Visa.

The lady is nice, I explain and she says will check and call back. Within <10 minutes, she calls back and says alright, can submit into system (yeahoo! )

As usual, no response or in M2u online, and from the forums here, some who applied later than me, already got their cards approved. So last week 31/1, I called again and the same lady picked up. I asked the status and she says nothing yet, so I ask her to expedite, she says will raise it up.

Last week during CNY, both cards are listed in M2u online Now waiting delivery.

Therefore, conclusion is, apply through phone without submit docs works (for existing MBB CC), but it takes longer time and may need you to follow up.

Both cards not cancelled yet. I need to get the new cards first, then move all the auto-debit. Also transfer the TP points and redeem the MR 200 = RM1.
Also need to check if existing 0% EPP can transfer or incur fees/penalties. Otherwise, will retain one of the existing card until EPP finish.

I did not ask for GST waiver though, as I believe it will follow my CC expiry date, instead of application date. Same with the Amex CC I applied previously, the GST is not charged immediate, but on the anniversary of the expiry date. Will try later.

Well it depends, if you have only 1 card to choose from and no other cards from other banks, then it depends on how much you spend a month.

For OCBC Titanium, the cash back is capped at RM50/month with cash back rate of 1% or 5% depending on transaction type. For the 5% cash back you only need to spend RM1K.

For the OCBC Gold Visa, if you spend more than RM30,000 a month, the cash back you get is 0.2% = RM60 which is more than OCBC Titanium. To match OCBC Titanium capped cash back of RM50, you need to spend RM25,000. With 0.2% cash back, better you go with other bank classic cards giving you 1X reward point.

The question to ask is OCBC Titanium better or OCBC Platinum better. The OCBC Platinum gives 0.5% cash back and not capped. So if you spend more than RM10K a month, OCBC Plat better than OCBC Titanium.

The way to go is get OCBC Titanium and Maybankard 2 American Express

Is Red Box no longer accepting Amex card for payment? Its been few times and they give me same reason, their machine cannot process Amex card...

Why not if that centre accepts AMEX. Most of the Maxis Centres (not authorized reseller/partner) accept AMEX.

For those who are holding Maybankard2 Gold/Plat, did you check your card statement? I have checked mine through M2U and the statement is in a mess!

Plus, the TP on the cards do not reflect on M2U > Reward Points.

Red Box still giving discount for Public Bank CC or Debit Cards? Someone confirmed OCBC titanium get 5% cash back at Red Box in CC thread.

It is stated that Maybankard 2 Master available from April onwards, so all of you that have applied or got your cards, all taking Visa?

For the mean time, only Visa is available. I'm eying on Mastercard.
