QUOTE(winner @ Feb 1 2011, 07:54 PM) No matter what, the new Maybankard 2 Amex is one of the best card in market now, regardless of whether it is Gold or Platinum. Just go for it! Since my Amex Gold CC just got charged RM50 service tax, should I wait till year end only apply for M2 CC? I'm thinking to apply, but do not think it is worth to pay another RM50 again... |

QUOTE(winner @ Feb 1 2011, 07:59 PM) You have to do your calculation. If the 5% cash back during weekends and 5x TPs can give more than what you pay for the RM50 service tax, then you should apply for Maybankard 2 Amex IMMEDIATELY. Thanks winner.By the way, M2Amex foreign rate is at 1.5% right? Do you all think it is worth to use M2Amex for overseas usage on weekend for the 5% rebate? After deducted 1.5% foreign rate, I think we still get 3.5% rebate. Correct me if I'm wrong... |

QUOTE(winner @ Feb 2 2011, 04:29 PM) It's 2.5%, as stated in its T&Cs. If you spend in overseas during weekends, you will get 5x TPs + 5% cash back - 2.5% admin fee for foreign currency conversion. After all, it is still a good deal. However, you must know the time zone difference between Malaysia and the foreign country if you spend during weekends. Thanks Winner... I thought Amex card with Maybank logo is at 1.5% foreign rate. Seems I was wrong. Thanks for the update. I'll be going to SG soon so I'll rely on OCBC Titanium, and still considering should I get M2Amex to replace my current Amex Gold CC... still waiting for my 15% cash rebate... otherwise I would have already canceled it... |

QUOTE(winner @ Feb 2 2011, 04:40 PM) You still can apply for Maybankard 2 Amex now and terminate your Amex Gold cc after you have received your Maybankard 2 Amex and 15% cash back in full. I'll do this definitely. I couldn't find any reasons why we should keep our Amex Gold cc after receiving the 15% cash back, for those who have obtained Maybankard 2 Amex. QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 2 2011, 04:44 PM) Definitely go cancel AMEX Gold Credit Card once you receive all your 15% Cash-Back rebate. Last Payout month would be April 2011 (for Feb's spending). Once you have the Maybankard2 combo, use the Maybankard2 Visa for lower forex admin fees (0.5%) QUOTE(winner @ Feb 2 2011, 04:49 PM) Using Maybankard 2 Amex in overseas will save more, if you are not a big spender. It is because of the 5x TPs for everyday and additional 5% cash back for weekends. Thanks Winner & Ronnie.I'm going to work in SG. So I think will use M2Amex and OCBC Titanium combo for my spending there... since I couldn't find any SG based CC/DC that gives good rebates and within my "affordability". |

Wow, good for you as you can start spending this coming weekend 25-Jan-2011 : Faxed in my application form without support docs as I have existing SonyCard Visa 2 Feb 2011 : Application has been approved. That's about 5 working days... Kudos to Maybank !!! I heard we can apply for M2 cards via phone calls without any forms or documents if we have Maybank account/CC. Going to use this method for my M2 application. But will do this next week since tomorrow and Friday is CNY holiday. Anyway, wishing everyone here Happy Chinese New Year |

QUOTE(winner @ Feb 2 2011, 08:12 PM) It is not recommended to apply for the cards through telephone without submitting any documents. Some forummers here including myself tried this method but ended up receiving error and delay. Thanks Winner. I'll submit my documents via branch or their counter if I see them promoting at malls. If you want to get the card fast, you can download the form from M2U website and fill in the form yourself and then fax or email it over to MBB together with some supporting documents. Since I'm existing MBB user I just give them my CC for application. Happy Chinese New Year! |

Got my Dec10 cash back... but only for spending made before Xmas...
Added on February 11, 2011, 1:48 am QUOTE(winner @ Feb 9 2011, 10:25 AM) GOSH DARNIT!!! I am supposed to get the full RM150 cash back for spending in December 2010 but I only noticed RM80 deposited into my Amex account. I did a thorough calculation just now and got the answer. My spending from 6-12-10 onwards DID NOT EARN any cash back. That means the total payout of RM1mil for December had finished on 6-12-10 or earlier, but MBB only announced it end-December. What the hell! I got 15% cash back for my spending on 18th Dec... but not for my spending after Xmas... I think its better to call the bank and clarify...This month, I am not going to use my Amex Gold cc in the participating shopping malls again. I am gonna cut it soon after the 15% cash back promotion ends. This post has been edited by Shinichi: Feb 11 2011, 01:48 AM |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Feb 19 2011, 06:09 PM) I did that and they call me back 3 weeks later, but some other earlier and many here mentioned they were even given auto approval without speaking to anyone. Yeah, read about they pre-approved the card. I missed a call from 03-xxxx6222, tried to call back but could not call in. Not sure if this is from Maybank.Click here to read about my application for Maybankard 2 cards. |

QUOTE(winner @ Apr 17 2011, 10:19 AM) Today I have finally cancelled my Amex Gold cc. This card is deemed USELESS after I obtained Maybankard 2 Amex Platinum. I did this after I have made sure that I received the 15% cash back for February, converted all MR points to cash rebates and transferred all negative outstanding balance to existing Maybankard 2 Amex Platinum. We can transfer negative balance from Amex Gold CC to M2 Amex?Bye bye, Amex Gold cc! |
