Can anyone confirm the Maybankard 2 is entitled for the 15% cashback promo? This is beside the innate 5% & 5x points

These 5x TPs for everyday and additional 5% cash back for weekends make this card very sexy!

QUOTE(winner @ Feb 1 2011, 07:59 PM) You have to do your calculation. If the 5% cash back during weekends and 5x TPs can give more than what you pay for the RM50 service tax, then you should apply for Maybankard 2 Amex IMMEDIATELY. Thanks winner. By the way, M2Amex foreign rate is at 1.5% right? Do you all think it is worth to use M2Amex for overseas usage on weekend for the 5% rebate? After deducted 1.5% foreign rate, I think we still get 3.5% rebate. Correct me if I'm wrong...

After deducted 1.5% foreign rate, I think we still get 3.5% rebate. Correct me if I'm wrong... It's 2.5%, as stated in its T&Cs. If you spend in overseas during weekends, you will get 5x TPs + 5% cash back - 2.5% admin fee for foreign currency conversion. After all, it is still a good deal. However, you must know the time zone difference between Malaysia and the foreign country if you spend during weekends. This post has been edited by winner: Feb 2 2011, 04:30 PM

I thought Amex card with Maybank logo is at 1.5% foreign rate. Seems I was wrong. Thanks for the update. I'll be going to SG soon so I'll rely on OCBC Titanium, and still considering should I get M2Amex to replace my current Amex Gold CC... still waiting for my 15% cash rebate... otherwise I would have already canceled it...

You still can apply for Maybankard 2 Amex now and terminate your Amex Gold cc after you have received your Maybankard 2 Amex and 15% cash back in full. I'll do this definitely. I couldn't find any reasons why we should keep our Amex Gold cc after receiving the 15% cash back, for those who have obtained Maybankard 2 Amex.

Definitely go cancel AMEX Gold Credit Card once you receive all your 15% Cash-Back rebate. Last Payout month would be April 2011 (for Feb's spending). Once you have the Maybankard2 combo, use the Maybankard2 Visa for lower forex admin fees (0.5%)

So I think will use M2Amex and OCBC Titanium combo for my spending there... since I couldn't find any SG based CC/DC that gives good rebates and within my "affordability".
