my z5500 control pod display light is now faded and completely dark now..
luckily the pod still shows the display words without the light on

anybody facing this issues?

mp3 is just stereo, only left & right channel
if u wanna test the centre speaker with mp3 then u got to switch to prologic movie/music [this upmix 2channel source to 5.1 sound]
else u need a 5.1 source, a DVD movie to have all the speakers works in 6-channels direct mode..

yah same problem, but mine only the left led dead edy..but still kind a hard to see the lcd in the dark . and last week my red light on power button dead oso

Anyone tried using optical cable??
I'm got some distortion at the rear speakers..... when running DTS..

It's like those sudden spike (pop/hissing sound every 5 sec..)
Using spdif passthrough mode in Media Player ..

AC-3 is ok though...

ANyone know where to bring to fix logitech z-5500D outside especially the pod problem?

my currect setting now input 6ch direct channel when i play mp3 now i got 5.1 full sound realy works because i set enable CMSS-3D Stereo surround realy works

no need so mafan. I use optical out via foobar then i install foobar plugin immediately got surround from 5 channel.

But for music i only use 4 channel.

i have problem logitech z-5500
when i turn on will sound come noise 6ch direct
i turn off i try pull cables green black orange i try turn on stilll noise valume 0 if i valume up 50% wil more noise

my sound card dont have optical input
i dont have cable optical
i have try other speaker old altech lansing atp3 2.1 tested no noise
i try my z-5500 control pod cable pull green black orange i try turn on still noise all speakers

Then get one and try. Ppl give u solution but u dont try. I am using optical no weird noise except at extreme high volume

Same problem as you guys. Suddenly one day just went dark. The power LED is working fine though.

My issue both light and text is display just my problem the text getting blurry

why i dont try optical because i dont have optical cable and my sound card dont support optical

lol.z-5500 thx is AUD 399 here at melbourne.want me to buy it for you?haha.by the way,i own a logitech z-5400.300+ watts rms not enough for me lor...but i think hardware decoded speakers lg bgos dr software decoded.i hate creative coz harware decoded sound blaster pun xkuar 5.1.dah check settings etc still xkuar 5.1 in movies.games je kuar..sob3x...my built in soundcard (asus supreme fx-2) still way better.mmg bass kurang but coupled with my z-5400,accurate sound and rich bass.

logi, since your sound card is fine, your prob is speaker side. Next you need test with optical or coaxial. If they work the problem is either the cable broken, connection not good or the control pod rosak.

I remember last time you say you like boom boom right? Maybe you boom your speaker over liaw.

Time to buy new boom boom speaker.

Added on November 28, 2009, 10:28 amOh i didnt see you say, take off cable still noise... like tat your problem is in the control pod... maybe digital signal still ok... then ur only solution is try with digital like optical.

Your house shud have dvd player right... some of them got optical... use tat but you need buy optical cable...

hari rabu problem z-5500 stil noise i turn off so esok hari khamis pagi 11.00am i test turn on wo tak de noise so i playing songs listering i check subwoofer hole now busuk so i turn off then petang 3pm i turn on tak de noise so i playing songs listering 3min now again noise i turn off i try turn on still noise adoit
why subwoofe hole mng busuk hole to

busuk? i never smell my subwoofer but... maybe got cicak mati inside if it really busuk.
