both card are good, it doesnt matter which brand u pick, still they will rock your Z5500

im using Auzen X-Fi and with two setup Digital and Analog, mostly im using Direct Analog bcoz Auzen card have better DAC than Z5500 have.

i think on X-fi pci-e card have all the connection.. u can do both , so u connect all and u can switch between optical and direct on your Z5500 control pod Input button

im using that came with soundcard somemore and maybe change to phillips too. is there any difference between normal cable and the branded one?

yes .. i just look at the box... and the weight exactly 27.5kg

try this setting : Tools > Preferences > Audio > Output : Type > Win32 waveOut extension output

and it works for me

dont know about ac3filter thou, i have ac3filter installed on pc.. but im not setting anything on ac3filter.

try to off CMSS 3D..

anyway the voice always come out on the center speaker and the music will go surround.. correct me if im wrong

ahwei : if u still want to use creative chip.. go for Auzentech x-fi like mine or if not then go for Asus Xonar . both card use high end transistor and have very good DAC on board.

yah same problem, but mine only the left led dead edy..but still kind a hard to see the lcd in the dark . and last week my red light on power button dead oso
