Don't think it really makes a big different  if jump from x-fi extreme music to xonar d2x.

as you using the Z5500 speakers....
hardly hear the big diff unless you using audiophile grade shelves... hehe
*
I did that jump from X-Fi XtremeMusic to Asus Xonar D2X, never regretted my decision.

Its either Asus Xonar or Auzentech Prelude for me.

No more creative sound card anymore.

like mod,equalizer?
with those mod can it improve?
*
Yup, through a sound card, modding, use better speaker cable.

Yea totally agreed with you. I made that jump too no regret as well especially when its pair with z-5500D + Xonar D2X + foobar with ASIO = heaven

z5500 consider is old generation of speaker, using old technology. Like my friend z5500, use only 1 week the fuse broke down. But this is depend, if you're lucky you speaker won't break down.

You can choose other brand if you don't want take this risk.
*
Its not like tat . It depends on your house electrical output. My speaker is entering its 5th year already the fuse never blown before. Even its using old technology but if u compare to alot of speaker around its same price its still better

I also having the pod problem. The text is fading but still can see.

Fuse blow is a good thing. It's not the speaker's fault. It's the voltage spike that caused it. Better than Creative S750, no fuse the whole board fried. >_> So far in 3 years (i think...) i've change the fuse... twice. blush.gif

Damn. Asus Xonar D2X definitely sounds different and better compared to the X-Fi. I'm hearing sounds i've never heard before even in mp3s. Using 24bit 2ms ASIO and it's not even stuttering! ohmy.gif

Yes asus make good cards with better SQ than creative. Creative, the money you pay goes into the features rather than SQ.

Yeah i do have some FLAC lying around. BT's This Binary Universe in 5.1 sounds awesomer than before. thumbup.gif

Listening to Armin Van Buuren ASOT 2009 FLAC, totally blown away by the tight and solid bass, something rarely heard when describing Z5500 bass. shocking.gif

Nah no matter how good it is try listening to 5.1 surround music or DTS music. Its very beautiful its like you are there

FLAC are only better compression.

One more thing... I've got a weird problem.
I think I've connected it properly since my soundblaster got color-coded miniplug output. Just find n match.

The funny thing is everything is working except my center speaker.
I tried to test speakers utility in creative software (those left, right, center thingy) and it does work.
But when I played my mp3.... I dont get 5.1. I think its 4.1 onli. How come?

My current setting now is : Input Direct : 6channel surround. (Onli this one works fully when I run the test speakers location thingy).

What am I doing wrong here?
