They're roughly the same but some banks favours towards one of them like CIMB for MC and Maybank Visa.

On top of that, sometime, the promo may not be the same as well.

no.

btw, the diffe between mastercard n visa are:

1. rewards.
2. promotions. example resorts world sentosa singapore if use mastercard to purchase 4 tickets, got $25 voucher.
3. acceptance. example carrefour jurong singapore only accept visa, and carrefour medan too. last time went there may 2010. now dunno if can accept mastercard already.

Different company. The HQ of VISA International is in San Francisco whilst MasterCard Worldwide HQ is in New York. Different promotions as well. Assume the promotion comes from VISA or MasterCard itself.

Not really. CIMB Bank also offers classic, gold and platinum VISA. This piece of information however, cannot be found in their retail banking website but these cards do exist and are still in circulation.

Just got my Alliance statement enclosing a pamphlet where they offering 12 months BT 0% interest minimum amount RM2000 up to 80% of CL. No mention of admin/handling fees. However there is a 5% charge for early exit.

Good, more banks offering 12 months 0% BT. Hopefully next year CIMB/DA will match this offer instead of 0% for 6 months. I like DA BT, separate statement for BT and very fast approval and application can fax in.

1. Called to check with another CS and was told that once the statement is changed, the user is not entitled to any other promotion in the future. However, the cash rebate is still available.

2. I have lost out on the cash rebate as I did not know that the capping for 1 % is only RM20, so rugi RM10. Total rebate for this month is 98.25. anyone manages to get full RM120?

well if you don't settle in full by the 6th payment then you just have to pay higher interest.

Better to call CS and confirm when dateline to settle in full somewhere on the 5th month to avoid interest charges.

Are you sure the RM8 fee is incurred by gift redemption? I guess it might be debit card annual fee instead.

what are the steps to apply balance transfer? only and transfer to another bank?

btw maybe can update first page for annual fee free card -> Affinbank

and also Affinbank tier 1 is only 9.9%p.a

(on a side note, i seriously hardly see people use affinbank cc. sometimes i take out the card the cashier is like what card is this lol)

Yeap, gift redemption, confirm with staff of my home branch bank & which is why they advised me to cancel my Debit card and switch to normal ATM card. vmad.gif
