Hi guys.

I'm planning to go to the coming OGA 2011 tomorrow to drop my resume. Do they have walk-in interview during the exhibition like normal career fair? Or we can only drop our resume there?

try this blog: http://savvycareers.blogspot.com/2011/05/c...exxonmobil.html

looks like exxonmobil is looking for a fresh graduate chemical engineer.

good luck.

Added on May 31, 2011, 8:44 amcontrary to that, marketing work for O&G is really an interesting job.

i've never been there myself, but from what i know from my experience their job involves a lot of travelling.

and by this i mean internationally.

participating in conventions & expos.

meeting with prospective clients (once my colleague got to join this meeting with Modec.. trip to japan y'all)

as i am from the fabricator's side, we do a lot of marketing to our international clients.

Added on May 31, 2011, 8:46 amagreed.

the marketing arms usually be called by business development.

All, want your opinion between subsea engineer and rotating equipment (RE) engineer? Which has better prospects? As a subsea engineer, i get to go offshore when required. RE engineer get to travel alot as well overseas but not offshore. Not too sure which is better...

there is no specify prospect for a post. it is about how many wells & reservoirs are there. how much the o&g operators are willing to capex into E&P. then only jobs are created.

basically, supply & demand theory.

Guys, I was there this afternoon. There are quite a number of booths with boxes for job application.

There is also a very interesting exhitbitor that provides certificate training specifically for the oil & gas industtry. There will be a job attachment in major companies upon completion of the training, extremely useful for fresh grads who wants a career in this industry.

I think you should go to that booth at OGA2011 i mentioned above. They can provide training so that you can do more in piping. 2D is not sufficent nowadays. I believe with that you should have pay comparable to subsea.

Subsea will pay you much better even higher than someone who is in Piping line and already acquired a certificate.

Of course, but there are sure less subsea...than piping. In any oil and gas facility, there are more piping than any other thing.

thats what im thinking as well since its up stream compared to piping and of course you work more on the offshore projects for subsea the to piping which are on shore projects.
