cetco has a a few add up in jobstreet.

also btw to the pro's in here having cswip3.0-3.2 certs, planning to take them but i was wondering would it be still looked up by employers if we have attended the course but not the examination??(since the req of the examinations are certain amount of time in engineering work so when i do take the course im not sure i would be able to take the exam.....)

yes it is possible.
But preference will always fall to those who had G&G background.
You might be fitter elsewhere depends on your personal background.
Any specific reason why you choose to be a geophysicist? other field might be more rewarding to you
*
its just that im really interested in that field..im an engineering graduate with major in geotechnique.. smile.gif

Extremely difficult. For these kind of positions you really need to have at minimum a BSc in Physics (I know of a Geophysicists who had a degree in Physics from USM but he's been doing Geophysics for the last 20 years so that was a long time ago). Nowadays, if you do not have a degree in Geology/Geophysics, you will not get that position.

Taking a couple of courses won't cut it.

really?quite disappointing.. sad.gif

Not really sure if master will help you. The thing about being a geophysicist is you also need to know about geology, especially structural geology. Maybe instead of getting master in geophysics, get a master in geology. Usually when you join operators as freshie, they will put you as geoscientist. After that than you can choose either to be geologist or geophysicist.
I know a guy who have degree in physics, take a master in geology and know work with operator.

Geoservices, Baker Atlas, Halliburton, FMC, Cameron - all applied, either no feedback or got rejected.
Not aiming on big companies only but for Shell, I have to apply cos I'm a scholar. Now that i got released, I'm happy that i went up until the FEP for SLB. Not aiming only for these two, but these two give feedback. Done with the FEP, now I'm back with job hunting. Still waiting for feedback from Baker though. I applied there way earlier than SLB but....haiz. why la no feedback... I've had enough getting frustrated.

Did they mention how many people they were taking in ? I think you shouldn't write it off unless you get an actual confirmation.
In the meantime of course, best to continue searching.
