Just FYI to the guy who mention about the pay in SLB,the basic for fresh is already more than 5K,that still doesnt include the extra 20% you get while being based at Kemaman or labuan.

QUOTE(ICDeadPeople @ Aug 16 2011, 03:57 PM) Most probably will, but not to big shot companies (operators, well known consultants, etc). actually some of my friend get recruited by SLB and Baker with lower 2nd class degree.anyway this only applies to FE ,you dont need to be a high achiever to do this stuff.... ,in case if anyone is curious ,i am an fe myself.Best chance is to look for small service companies. QUOTE(preakzz @ Aug 19 2011, 10:35 PM) my advice is to read through the Schlumberger thread in jobs and career section,there are many details over there about the various stages of the interview.@figuremeout I think all the big service company,SLB,Baker,HAL and WTF have vacancies all year round.I always see a bunch of new FE being recruited every month or two. QUOTE(Materazzi @ Sep 24 2011, 07:55 PM) can I become an oil rigger without study engineering one??? well,u only need to finish high school some even primary school to join most of the drilling contractor,if that is what you meant.u dont need any fancy degree to work as roustabout or roughneck.U will be surprised most of the oil riggers,even the one with high position only have high school certs,but of course they have a lot of oilfield experience.I have an accounting degree, 22 yrs old , a project cost controller in an european MNC. |

QUOTE(Materazzi @ Sep 24 2011, 08:25 PM) then how to enter this kind of job? and the pay surely huge right? if getting 4-5k /month is a lot to you, with 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off rotation,by all means go ahead and apply for it,but mind you this job is rough.I'm an FE myself but I will never be able to do whatever they do,even if i try,I'm sure I can't even last for one month.I want to find the challenging and rewarded well one. Added on September 24, 2011, 8:27 pmafter see the ha ji won performed in sector 7, any girls in oil rig? This post has been edited by backspace66: Sep 24 2011, 09:19 PM |

@figuremeout
that question is so general....FE only means that u are an engineer working in the field.Your job scope will depend on what you do,for example,well testing,wireline,mwd/lwd,cementing,wellbore surveying,coil tubing,etc... |
