I joined O&G engineering consultancy 16 months ago after grad as piping engineer but now quitting to another field

For those who all O&G engineers are highly paid, that's wrong, at least in Msia. Only those with EXPERIENCE will be highly paid.

what engineering graduate? i would advise a CGPA of 3 or more for a start.

2nd, i would advise good command of english language.  nowadays, i see a lot of so called graduates speak very bad english full of chinese accent.

this is a big no no and a big turn of. you better go work for your dad if you cannot speak good english.

International Oil Companies prefer good command of english language.

as i have posted above, O&G is huge, why do you want to join O&G?

im dip in marine engineering student..can diploma student work on offshore?

I'm currently doing my intern in Petronas Sarawak Operations, and if one is Mechanical Engineering mostly will be assigned to Maintenance dept.

i am really keen to get into this field,
i am now taking
-diploma of aircraft maintenance engineering,
-cgpa 3.7-3.6

will the companies like schlumberger,shell,baker,exxon ,petronas accept me
into their company??or i can get any interships in mnc oil n gas company??

I dont understand, if a big player company sets a minimum requirement for example like, the interviewers only will interview people with at least 2nd UPPER CLASS result, then how, in the 1st place, are you gonna score an interview before you can even get the chance to portray yourself or convince the interviewers?

Med check up is routine. Blood samples, urine test, eyesight, hearing.

Doc will most likely grab ur balls so yea just be that nice little chap you are and don't freak out.

Suggestion Research Study About Refinery

I am currently a chemical engineering undergraduate, and next month i will undergo the industrial training in a oil refinery for 3 months, and after the industrial training then gonna be my final year study, and i gonna have a final year research project.

i was thinking whether is there any opportunity for me to do topics where i can apply my experience i gonna gain in refinery. one of my chem eng frens suggested me to work or collaborate with the refinery i attached during my internship and do a research study, and personally i am quite interested in it. for instance like getting some data from the refinery, do some analysis., etc.

is any process engineer working in refinery can provide any suggestions for me ? before this i was thinking about the optimization work, but i am also thinking is there any other thing i can do .. something like the effect of process parameters of a process unit on the performance / product yield, or something like what heat integration improvement by pinch analysis, or like reduction of energy cost in certain unit.. etc.

Does it involves boats, barges etc? Life boats? Radio communication? Helicopters?

How about working conditions such as strong wind, monsoon, wave?

Any heavy lifting?

Regardless of what line you are from, first of all do you love the sea, boats, sailing?

Do you love the colour of money?

Can you live at sea for several months?

I think with your qualification as a civil engineer, you are most appropriate to do offshore installation work which is in the field of structural.
