Really? I just spoke with my cousin and she said that she switches everything off of she's away for more than a day... NO prb for her as well... Any clue what might the prb be? It is broadcasting a wireless signal but I just can't connect... I've tried using my laptop, sister's laptop, dad's laptop, and 2 different iphones, AND a samsung galaxy tab! nothing works!! I switched the BTU off once or twice, waited, and I still can't connect~~~ So frustrating...

I remapped the paid channels (Universal HD, Warner, Syfy) to free channels to bypass the preview system. STB decodes it fine regardless of what stream I tell it to work on, lol!

Nice, so you now have the license to hack everything Unifi? smile.gif

hi guys.....i'm currently contemplating whether to change from my 1mbps streamyx to VIP5.

The thing is, I've read a few bad stories here and I'm a bit scared if lets say my service gets disrupted for a few day. That'll be bad as I'll be cancelling my streamyx and if anything happens, I'll be dead with my assignments and my parents need the internet to check their important mails too.

So at this current stage, is it worth changing to unifi? I download occasionally to quite frequently so the added speed for download and upload would be great.

Can u guys tell me some of the cons that i will face after changing to unifi? My location is in USJ11, Subang Jaya. Anyone nearby this area wanna give some comments?

Thanks.

Fiber optic is the future bro... You can't live with copper connection for long.

If u turn off the BTU, there will be no phone service. Ideally, turn off both router and IPTV if u need to be away for a while.

Mine never turn off, all 24x7 connected. Now, need to buy a UPS for BTU because if there is a power outage, phone service also go.

hi rizvanrp,

I tried to bridge the lousy tmnet router to my own router, following closely your guide, but it didn't seem to work. I tried both methods on your site, still it didn't work. I'm not sure what I did wrong.

I used belkin wireless g router. Could it be that the method doesn't work for this router? Thanks.

Did you try resetting your orange dlink router? Have you tried connecting directly with your orange router via LAN cable?

Wtf? You got UniFi installed and never thought of mentioning it to me? So which package did you get? BIZ20? Hehehe. Eh, btw have you gotten a PS3 yet? We need to practice for TTT2!

Edit: Ah sorry bro, I didn't realize you were the guy who compared UniFi to Maksial, uh, I mean, Maxis BB. See? I told you UniFi was awesome sauce.

RB750 is a router with managed switch. RB250gs is a managed switch. If you want simple setup, take the 250gs.

Excuse me for being new to unifi.
I've got a VIP 10 package, but international traffic is only capped at 5 mbps. I was wondering whether VPN service will allow me to achieve max speed when dealing with international traffic, like torrenting?

Keep your streamyx for say 1 month if you are afraid there are disruptions. Then cancel when everything is stable.
