QUOTE(landasan @ Feb 8 2011, 08:06 PM) configuration should be easy. Here a good step by step how to setup reference site --- http://unifi.athena.my/mikrotik_rb250gs.html Thanks. But with rb250gs, I am not able to connect directly from it with Ethernet cable right? Need to go thru a wireless router, right? |

Ok. Here's the deal.. I'm thinking to get TP-Link TL-WR841N or RB750G... which one is better? I think these are the best device among others.

QUOTE(boxsystem @ Feb 8 2011, 10:07 PM) Yes. For more info, you can go to klseet web. Lots of info there. Sorry for being so long winded. http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...e&id=6&Itemid=4 Let's just cut it short. If I use RB250GS + TP-link TL WR941ND. Will it work? QUOTE(boxsystem @ Feb 8 2011, 10:30 PM) Okay, if I'm reading this right. But I smell something fishy here or maybe I'm newbie to this. TP-Link TL-WR841N costs only RM90++ while Mikrotik RB250GS also needs RM160++. Therefore, why don't everyone head for the 841 instead? You want to use any router(PPPoE capable) to totally replace TM DIR-615 right? If that is the case, you might want to check Rizvan Web for router compatibilities. There, you will see a list of routers which can completely replace TM's. But, if you have Mikrotik RB250GS, you will need any router that is PPPoE capable to dial into Unifi service. On the setup and everything, you can always refer to both klseet and rizvan's guide. Added on February 8, 2011, 10:30 pm Yes. But you can use TL-WR841ND directly. Without that Mikrotik, if I am not mistaken. |

QUOTE(rizvanrp @ Feb 8 2011, 11:47 PM) @DT8 Thanks. You've cleared up my mind. So I decided to get 750/750G. But with my current Aztech WL830RT4, it will work along with it right?TP-Link 841ND has disconnection issues with some VDSL BTUs (that's what I heard from seet anyway).. but it's an all-in-one solution which should satisfy most home users as a backup router for Unifi. Power users will probably go with the RB250GS or 750/750G. 250GS lets them connect any hardware (Cisco/Zyxel/Vyatta/Belkin/Buffalo/whatever) with Unifi. Then you have the 750/750G which is a full RouterOS based system (but without wireless). RouterOS lets you have total control over your network + high performance routing for P2P applications. You don't compare cars and only look at the price right? |

Fiber --- UniFi BTU --- RB750G --- IPTV --- DECT Phone --- Aztech WL830RT4 <----- all these are being placed in living hall
In my living room, homeplug -- Ethernet cable -- PC. Do u guys think it will work? Cos I want to use Ethernet cable in my room for the stability compared to wireless or it makes no difference if I use wireless USB adapter for my PC? This post has been edited by DT8: Feb 9 2011, 05:08 PM |
