Are you guys getting worse routing, compared to before? (a week or so ago)

Instead of the usual 1MB/s, I'm getting 10 KB/s on the same source. Different ip's make a huge difference apparently? Which is the best range?

Hmm seeing that no one's really mentioning a problem with the speed, I'm guessing its only me who's experiencing bad download speeds?

What's the best way to rectify this?

Thanks

crc failures? the cyclic redundancy thing?
isn't that your hard disk's problem or something?
Nah, in this case, its coz of bad / missing packets. Download errors basically :/

First of all, please forgive my ignorance if this has been answered before..

I've subscribed to unifi because of the free installation fee and 1-month subscription waived. Now I am getting headache when I saw the word "drilling" in the order sheet.

I am figuring out the installation without too much of drilling.. My floor plan as attached. The phone line is wired from the back from my house up to my room at 2nd floor. My PC, modem, router and phone are in my room, while the TV is at the living room outside my room.

According to the diagram on the first page of this thread, is it possible to install the BTU, PG, Dect phone in my room and then connect the STB via Homeplug (another homeplug in my room)?

Thanks!

In theory, it should work. I'm not using the homeplug though. So maybe someone who's using it can comment? In my case, the drilling was very minimal - only a tiny hole to allow the fiber cable into the house.

I'm actually more concern about the outcome.. as seen in the video posted on the first page.. tongue.gif
My mom is gonna jump up and down..

Thanks for the reply, guys!

But if there are any users using homeplug, do post your comment here.

What I did was have the Fiberhome box (the main one that everything is connected to) next to the TV, along with the wireless router and the IPTV box. Then connected to my PC using a USB wireless adapter.

This configuration depends on where exactly the fiber exchange / cables enter your home. For example, if its too far away from the TV area or on a different floor, you'll prob have to put the Fiberhome box somewhere else and then use the homeplugs.
