Btw, i dont like to handle certain clients from malaysia or china since they usually have the china man mentality and will ask me to cut corners. I prefer either japanese or koreans. By the book, and then some. |

This info is strictly for West M'sians who have worked a considerable no. of yrs in S'pore, have accumulated at least SGD50-100K or more in their CPF savings and wish to withdraw their savings and return home.
Note that West M'sians are normally not allowed to do so unless they have reached retirement age. Only East M'sians can withdraw. The CPF rule is: "once in, always in" until retirement age for both S'poreans & West M'sians. There is a way but I will not make the info public for obvious reasons. Note that I will not entertain folks who want to know for curiosity. I will screen through and advise only qualified applicants. Do send me a PM note for further enquiries. Thank you. |

Anyway I freaking lazy to go Sim Lim buy things, too far. Don't they have online stores to sell stuff? I find that Hardwarezone forums are really lousy, Lowyat has more online sellers than there. I guess Singaporeans will just buy during all those PC Fairs. |

QUOTE(reign226 @ Jan 9 2011, 06:55 PM) I went there. Lousy place. Sim Lim has more electronics stuff and at a cheaper price too. But Funan looks more upscale while Sim Lim looks like a gangster's version of Lowyat. In singapore, due to it being upper middle class society, purchasing electronic goods should in a mall type environment rather then the "pasar malam" style, ah beng and ah tiong customer sales person which is SLS.Too bad there isnt a newegg of singapore or malaysia. Good deals with free shipping and a good return policy. This post has been edited by crapp0: Jan 9 2011, 07:02 PM |

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Jan 8 2011, 08:27 PM) izzit? to me, Singapore and malaysia is just the same thing. But my current job is the most stress free job in my whole entire life. so Singapore = less stress compare to Malaysia. For me, i think it depends on what company and what position you are holding la. when u got a good job and company, that's when u should start enjoying ur life. if not, keep searching until you get one. I can safely say your current job is the most carefree and less stress !! Paid is reasonable.. And you can even surf net like... 5 hours a day? Lol...How I wish my current position has only your que My current job is more stressful compare previous job.. But I learn to handle it quite ok now.. Sim Lim's small shops on the topmost 2 floors are the cheapest but also give me the least confidence in terms of imitations and warranty. Generally Sim Lim is cheaper than Funan, but my experience is that Funan is not far off if you're willing to thoroughly shop around. The prices in Funan tend to vary a lot more than Sim Lim where everybody is giving out price lists at the escalators.I buy a lot of memory cards and hard drives. And for those things, I find the best prices in Malaysia like Computer War in PJ and PC Depot in Ipoh. Must be the lack of GST. Yeah if possible i will also avoid going to SLS but recently my PC freezes randomly. I've tried reformatting, changing RAM slots, unplugging GC. I've also done all sorts of tests in which the readings are kinda normal except for a 20KB bad sector in my HD.
So i need those SLS folks to check for me. Now the biggest challenge is to carry my PC down and look for a decent shop. =/ |

I've also done all sorts of tests in which the readings are kinda normal except for a 20KB bad sector in my HD. I tried fixing my company's pc at a service shop in funan 2nd top floor. The service is good and fast (next day for checking and replacing parts) with reasonable price (pc zone in those neighbourhood place took few days). Maybe they are free at that moment. So i need those SLS folks to check for me. Now the biggest challenge is to carry my PC down and look for a decent shop. =/ As what I have experienced. Funan gave me more confident than SLS in terms of customer service and reliability. I don't mind paying like 5-10% extra for trouble less device. Running up and down and get pissed off for computer error definitely not worth the money I save. From the previous post I saw there are job opening in Apple. can pm me for the details? |
