i love the simple industrial look for Dell monitors and the mechanical buttons too. It perfected my L-2000 desktop.

Because of the narrow bezel, I can combine it with other monitor very well. When it rotated it'll still look nice and balanced.

the only complain is noticeable grainy screen and too bright(with 0 brightness) doh.gif

I think the only con that I found are
1. No HDMI
2. A bit slow on power back on (took about 40 secs)

What grainy thing? Is it the backlight so uneven when viewed in dark environment? hmm.gif

it's not that bad imo, just the same as most other desktop LCDs.However compared to certain laptops' antiglare coating it is a bit rougher

I'd prefer matted coating than glossy screen or else the grainy thing is because of your own reflection biggrin.gif

hdmi can always been converted to dvi-d or displayport as long as u have the required adapter and monitor that using hdcp, audio can always get from optical,composite,3.5mm jack, just requires lots of cable and adapter whistling.gif
u sure it takes 40 sec, mine like 5 seconds only(viewing dell logo), the revision for monitor are A01

You mean you turned off the computer and then turned it back on? How does that compare with other displays? Because I thought that would be because the computer doesn't have anything to show. Switching the display itself off and on only takes a few seconds.

YES you can buy the convertor. No different in visual appearance, just that no audio pass through only.

For the second time in this thread, I've answered the same question again tongue.gif

Yes, that was exactly what I mean. When the PC is idle, turn it off and back on again ... took ~40 seconds. If watch football, miss a lot of goal shot already tongue.gif

The other TN monitor I used on the same PC turn back on in 4-5 seconds only. Samsung B1930 i used in the office right now, blinks in 1 sec only, like nothing happened.

Ultrasharp tends to slow boot after the first or second power on.
I dont think its a defect but it was born to boot slow.

Maybe because I am using HDMI -> DVI convertor and also perhaps the monitor probes for other inputs on power on. I'll check the setting if I can set it manually to DVI only so that it wont probe for DP or D-SUB.

Gonna test it soon.
