Ultrasharp tends to slow boot after the first or second power on.
I dont think its a defect but it was born to boot slow.
That's true I dont think its a defect but it was born to boot slow.

I have set the monitor from AUTO to DVI input so that it will look for DVI everytime it turned on.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm still took about 40 seconds to turn on Now I can't set to auto. The monitor show Locked Added on March 15, 2011, 9:10 pmIt seems I had this similar problem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HI5bazK7FE The menu button laggy after using it a while. To overcome this, just turn off and on at the wall plug. Then after that the button responds normally and YES it can turn on immediately after 3 secs turning off using the power button. Weird bug or flaw. This post has been edited by jeopardise: Mar 15 2011, 09:10 PM |

QUOTE(Racerx @ Mar 17 2011, 01:44 PM) Never realized/encountered that before. The model is Phillips 201E with DVI/D-SUB with resolution of 1600x900. Bought it for Rm340 at StartecBTW bro, last time you said that you've used a 20" Phillips LCD at work at you said it's good. How good is it actually compared to the U2311H?What's the exact model? I'm looking for a 20" now and the ones i've seen are ..... The white level is acceptable and I did a simple tone test and the gradient looks smooth without banding. Because of the white level, grey color appears good and not bluish/yellowish on some monitor. I calibrated the monitor in Snow Leopard (because in windows too much blue). I compared this monitor with Samsung B2430H actually. Then after I change to U2311H, I checked the white & grey is quite close and acceptable. |

Hi there, what would you guys recommend me for a 20'' monitor. Budget is not more than RM400. If can get bigger monitor below RM400, please do recommend. I am using a HIS HD4850 512Mb. Thanks! Was thinking about the Samsung E2020X at RM365 or Acer S201HL at RM370. Hmmm. What is your recommendations?

QUOTE Samsung Shows See-Through LCD / Notebook Panel Prototypes Friday, March 18, 2011 - by Ray Willington Over the years, we've seen some pretty unusual notebook designs. There have been large ones, small ones and ones with tilting/swiveling screens. A few have even shipped with two LCDs, and Lenovo even created one with a slide-out LCD. But by and large, the general notebook design has remained constant over the years. Is it time for a major overhaul? Possibly, and Samsung Electronics may be the company leading the charge. At FPD China 2011, Samsung introduced and showcased a 14" see-though LCD panel. That's right: it's an LCD panel that you can see through. ![]() It's obviously a prototype for now; Samsung's not ready to ship these in commercial products. But still, the idea is terrific, and if Samsung is investing the money in this idea, it's logical to think that we'd see them in retail products before too long. As of now, the prototype has a 1680x1080 resolution, and a white LED unit is installed on each of the four sides of the panel. Light from the outside takes the place of a backlight, which greatly increases battery life. While great for notebooks, Samsung envisions a future where these see-through LCDs are also used in larger panels. ![]() The company showcased a 22" and 46" version, which are currently expected to be used as windowpanes or outdoor signs. In a perfect world, we'd love to see these in bathroom mirrors and possible for use as televisions. The best news of all is that Samsung is actually giving consumers a time frame to look forward to. Unlike many prototype devices, which are simply shown with no expected date of commercialization, Samsung had this to say on this particular product: "We are planning to commercialize them for one of those applications in or after the third quarter of 2011 (from July to September 2011)." Here's hoping it doesn't cost and arm and a leg when it ships! http://hothardware.com/News/Samsung-Shows-...nel-Prototypes/ I hope our eyes are not deceived by Photoshop technique to create 'transparent monitor' This post has been edited by jeopardise: Mar 19 2011, 11:33 AM |

I think the discount is always there, for unknown reason... it'll always going cheap, there's so many competitors at lowyat garage sales for this model.
