And the probability of getting a defective panel increases with larger sizes, so the cost of manufacturing them to get a good panel is even higher.

QUOTE(everling @ Mar 23 2011, 10:12 PM) And the probability of getting a defective panel increases with larger sizes, so the cost of manufacturing them to get a good panel is even higher. manufacturer have acceptable defective pixel count, they can use the panel if there is 1-2 dead pixel (stuck pixel are unacceptable), unless the panel use for professional class lcd like u3011hfinally other manufacturer that release cheap ips/va panel lcd monitor, hope to see tn panel die in shame QUOTE Acer introduced two new B-series PC monitors that make use of vertical-alignment (VA) panel technology, and LED backlit illumination. The Acer B243HLCOymdr is a 24-inch model, while the B273HLOymidh is the 27-inch part. Both displays feature full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and 100 million to 1 dynamic contrast ratio, providing a "zero bright dot guarantee". With 8 ms response time, the B243HLCOymdr is the snappier among the two, it features 250 cd/m² maximum brightness, and display inputs that include DVI and D-Sub; while the B273HLOymidh has 10 ms response time, 300 cd/m² brightness, and features HDMI input apart from D-Sub and DVI. The stands of both monitors allow rotating, tilting, height adjustment; the 24-inch model even allows pivoting. The Acer B243HLCOymdr and B273HLOymidh are priced at €249 and €399, respectively. http://www.tcmagazine.com/tcm/news/hardwar...va-led-monitors This post has been edited by zerorating: Mar 24 2011, 09:48 AM |

Which option is better, a 24" full hd LCD TV these days or a monitor the likes of Viewsonic VX2450wmLED 23.6", LG E2350t 23"
Now the thing is, iirc TVs are made not for near sight viewing but i do know that TV has better viewing quality for watching movies/programs with thier motion engine and wat not, however, unknown quality for gaming Also recently their prices have also come crashing down to be worthy comparisons Ill be using the monitor/tv on a desktop PC for both media viewing and gaming purposes |

QUOTE(DaRKMiSt @ Mar 27 2011, 03:24 PM) Do you really need a single 2560x1600 panel? Because you can buy five U2311H for RM 3,045 and get a 9600x1080 (landscape) or 5,400x1920 (portrait) screen. Or three U2311H for 5760x1080 (landscape) or 3240x1920 (portrait) screen and about RM 1,470 leftover for a graphics card that can drive three monitors at once. |

QUOTE(Pewufod @ Mar 27 2011, 08:41 PM) hey guys IMO the 'best' 21.5" LCD is the Dell ST2220T at RM759,it has a glossy coating [so higher contrast ratio] and it uses an IPS panel. It is also multitouch capable any idea whats the best lcd now for a 21.5in form factor and best valued lcd now ? my samsung lcd seems to go cuckoo flickering non stop every 10seconds For best value,it's the Dell U2311H,23" eIPS LCD,RM599,great colour reproduction, relatively fast, good contrast ratio. QUOTE(AlanSiew @ Mar 28 2011, 09:19 AM) Can't comment on those two since i can't find any reviews nor have i seen them before. |

QUOTE(Pewufod @ Mar 28 2011, 05:15 PM) Most TN 23" are around RM5XX and they aren't good in terms of colours and viewing angles except for one model i've seen before namely the LG W2343T-PF at RM469,it's colours are relatively accurate and the contrast ratio is good.Viewing angles aren't bad but it's still TN so don't put your hopes too high. |
