just updated xplanetfx and got another theme

Finally got over my attachment to the usual two-panel GNOME setup and decided to let Docky do the window navigation.

Just showing off wallpapers because I don't have much to pride myself in the themes and whatnot, I'm not so much of a UI tweaker like all of you

Because i pretty much love Avant + Divergence IV and conkyColor config, so i only changed it to this epic wallpaper.



and for scrotwm, i modified some color and PS1 settings. been tweaking .scrotwm.conf to match my trollworkflow

Very nice. I like the new Xdefaults and the Hellsing wallpaper.

I made my own window manager!! This is the result of one week's work. Some code borrowed from CWM, EvilWM and WindowMaker.... Not for noobs!!



It uses groupings instead of workspaces, so I just group certain windows together, and toggle them with keybindings. Still a bit buggy, though ... and I'm getting a memory leak >_<

my new install. found this great minimal distro, based on debian with xfce desktop. livecd iso size just 300mb with hdd installation just 1.5gb. suites me really well

Yeah, I'm a bit crazy making my own WM, I know.
It's just that I used to be a big fan of EvilWM and 9wm (from Plan9 .. not Linux), and wanted a similar feel.

With regards to lightness, I say it's about the same as ScrotWM or Fvwm or a barebones Openbox install on my Linux partition. Around 55mb ram at boot with most of my daemons and services loaded (I have networking, bluetooth, ipv6 shit installed). I can't say for sure, since I've only tested it on my Atom netbook, which is a bit bloated right now with a lot of unnecessary Haskell, Lua, Ruby libraries for other WMs that I don't use so much nowadays.

It's made for my BSD partition though, and is much lighter there. Installing on Linux (Debian) was a bit tricky as I had to modify certain openbsd_compat headers and create a new makefile, and even then I still got a lot of errors during 'make install', but it seems to run fine so far.

Still a few bugs. Some random crashes, I can't seem to get dmenu or dzen2 to work, so I replaced dmenu with the app launcher from Cwm and am using Conky for sys-info. Haven't tested any GTK apps as well, though Chromium-browser seems to run fine (I can use the artist themes, which means I don't need to install bloated gtk2-engines packages)

Changing KDE stuff after quite some time.

Finished my new Vim theme ....and further tweaking of G17-WM (I now have xft support, yay!!)
Celebrated with a change of font. Replaced my old favourite Terminus wit some Artwiz Drift.

As I've stated in previous posts, the WM is a homebrew/mash-up. Inspired by CalmWM (very popular among BSD veterans) which it's code and overall behaviour is based on, with some bits and ideas borrowed from 9wm, EvilWM and Windowmaker.

Yes, I am (shhh, don't tell anyone). I don't use Crunchbang anymore, but am still a member of the community, cos it's one of the best on the net. I still use a lot of Crunchbang's configs on my many Openbox setups.
