How do i know the minimal CPU speed (i7 930) 4 5870 CF?
i wanna make both GPU+CPU fully utilies their full potential...(not 100% load)
now running 3.8GHz 4 5870CF stock speeed..

should i put some more power on CPPU like 4GHz or 3.8 will do just fine?

*
i am looking for the answer to this question myself. the best way i could think of is to OC both cpu and gc, run the best benchmarking program until there's no more performance gain.

any other ideas?

nopelah...CPU usage wouldn't reach 100% like those stress test like prime95
i'll double confirm the value when i get back home..now in office..
so far temp is ok i think on CPU side...62c on Warhead..

GPU wise is difference story..on certain game the usage like quite evenly distribute between each cards..like 42% and 45% (Prince of Persia)
but on Crysis Warhead the 1st GC usage is really dominan like 99%
(2nd GC dun remember)..like Warhead more on 1st GC

Hey guys, I would like to ask ,
If I buy cheap HD6870 Like Rm749 vs Asus HD6870 Rm849,
what different ar ?

Because I see Asus wan stock clock is like 915Mhz , and the cheap one is 900Mhz... and the cheap are able to OC to 1000 easily ?

While I see Asus can. Im not familiar with AMD Radeon cards sweat.gif

and 1 more i get dizzy with this LCD connection..
the screen is in full mode with only DVI cable...when i plug in HDMI..it's getting bigger
i know it has something 2 do with scaling option but i thought CCC10.10 has overcome the scaling problem..
now i just stick with DVI..no more headache..

3.8Ghz will do fine, the extra 200Mhz won't do much in gaming
For gaming, its all about the GPU, I would say overclock your 5870s instead for more FPS

First, since now not released yet non-reference card,so i dont see any difference in performance between Asus vs non-Asus.
The differences most probably is :

Packaging
Warranty
Bundles(maybe got games,pad..etc)
Cooler(hardly cos all still using ref cooler)
Clock Speed/Overclocked

About the overclocking capability, its vary because of the BIOS used. Some ppl like to use MSI BIOS,Asus BIOS..depends.

best bang for buck now is the 5850, that is for sure. And it will definitely pawn the 6870 when OCed due to its higher raw horsepower

6 series has HDMI 1.4a support, better AA, AF,tesselation and better CF scaling

According to the latest review by techpowerup, the GTX580 trading blows in games with the 5970, especially in the higher resolutions, impressive

Now awaiting the 69 series to debut from AMD

So GTX580 is on par with HD5970? How about power consumption?

Power consumption is lower than the 480

But peak power same with 5970

it has to be better than the GF100s 470/480 since the BUGs are fixed
