QUOTE(Bap3 @ Oct 23 2010, 11:57 PM) if you want to copy/paste file..first seet your device to debugging mode (application > development > usb debugging) USB debugging is not really necessary for accessing the drive in the phone. Just the USB mounting thing will do.then connect your phone to your pc , drag the notification bar and select copy files from/to computer..let it's install driver first.. USB debugging is needed if want to access the phone using adb.exe though. |

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Oct 24 2010, 01:11 AM) I've heard this countless times. But I still have no idea how to flash back to stock ROM. Just use back Odin to flash, the stock rom is located at the 2nd post of tis thread. If u know how to flash to other rom then u should know how to flash back to stock rom, exactly same method.I mean, where do we get the firmware files? Or just force it through via Kies? I hope someone can explain on this to relieve me of my worries. This post has been edited by llk: Oct 24 2010, 01:15 AM |

QUOTE(silentser @ Oct 24 2010, 12:04 AM) i kinda eyeing on the Z, or maybe even get iphone 4 for myself as second phone/gf, Not too familiar with their rooting. But definitely not as EASY as our execute "update.zip" file rooting/flashing method. lolAdded on October 24, 2010, 12:06 am just wondering, do you know how desire root and all? flash the firmware? before i buy SGS im my self eyeing on desire, and read like it kinda hard to root than us.... is it true? i feel like SGS the most easiet to root/upgrade (thank god for that) Desire has 1 major problem that requires their user's time to root, which is to solve the bottleneck on the ROM space, which is 512MB. They are forced to use A2SD+, which requires a lot of modding here and there. My friend played with it the whole day to finally get it to work, then realised that the EXT2 he formatted can only utilize up to 1gb of space, which he allocated 2gb from his SD card. So ended up he has to re-partition the whole thing and redo again. I guess I could say that I was luckier when it comes to this. lol. |

QUOTE(gajahwhite @ Oct 24 2010, 12:26 AM) the conclusion.. vlingo voice (from samsung apps) do really need an internet connection to use the "tap & speak" function.. is it? if can use without internet kan more better.. any way to "bypass" this? Similarly, Google's voice recognition on Froyo requires internet connection as well. I guess the database is just too big to be stored in the phone's memory.Added on October 24, 2010, 1:23 am QUOTE(silentser @ Oct 24 2010, 12:54 AM) I did my own recording based on the results from the Battery Stat widget, from time to time.Yeah, I was really depressed on the weak battery life on my phone earlier. Which has improved much more after I did Voodoo Beta4 + display lagfix. Added on October 24, 2010, 1:25 am QUOTE(Fornx @ Oct 24 2010, 12:59 AM) Planning to jump ship? The calendar sync on Desire has got problems with Facebook. Hope they fixed this on DHD. Added on October 24, 2010, 1:26 am QUOTE(edison1437 @ Oct 24 2010, 01:08 AM) after i press the vol, home and power button there is no recovery and download menu meaning that i need to do boot fix? Yes you do, if you are going to be adventurous with your phone. Otherwise, don't bother. Aside from that, try connecting your phone to PC USB. Then when the battery charging picture is showed, when you press on any buttons. Try the 3-button salute again. It might work. Added on October 24, 2010, 1:29 am QUOTE(Bap3 @ Oct 24 2010, 01:14 AM) yeah..i know..but sometimes we i connect my phone using normal connect mode..copy files option does not appear even after i choose mass storage or media player...but when i enabled usb debugging, copy file option always available every time i connect to my pc..albeit of samsung kies option.. I noticed that, if I connected the cable to my PC before starting up my phone, the USB mount option will not appears most of the time. If I connect the cable when the phone is still active, then I'll see the USB mouting option. So I have to unplug the cable and plug it in again so I get that USB notification.Perhaps the USB debugging mode does solve this minor problem. I used this for rooting. Don't bother running the EXE file. Just run the .bat files.I've rooted my Eclair via rootme.bat. Make sure your adb.exe is in working condition, meaning your USB driver is correct. As for how to use ADB, check Google. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TGVJJ2HY This post has been edited by Harddisk: Oct 24 2010, 01:37 AM |

z4mod doesn't appear to support DXJG4. When zimage is uploaded for online patching, certain line regarding initramfs is not found/matched.
Hmm, to get rid of RFS, it's probably Froyo. Owai- QUOTE Oh dear! Sorry about the online patcher not working for about a day. The patchbox was previously using /tmp, which was no good for space reasons. It was changed to use 'tmp' which had the nice effect of breaking a line of script. (z4ziggy didn't test it after changing! ) Anyway, it's all fixed up now, so go wild and patch your kernels again. I will try patching the kernel again. QUOTE(Harddisk @ Oct 24 2010, 01:09 AM) USB debugging is not really necessary for accessing the drive in the phone. Just the USB mounting thing will do. Plus, USB Debugging is needed when using the phone as a modem (i.e. usb tethering) under Ubuntu 10x.USB debugging is needed if want to access the phone using adb.exe though. |
