guys,
if you can..try avoid being induced.
it is like you're forcing the baby to come out while he/she still enjoy swimming in your tummy!

but if you have probs with your pregnancy and need to be induced, before you go to the hospital and do it, opt for natural induction at home.
i was among those moms who failed woth the induction and as a result, emergency csect.
i was very lucky my bill came up only rm4k, 5days in single ward, baby bill only rm29 (NICU).
I took this FPP scheme in Putrajaya, where you will be treated by Specialist not random housemen.
And the service is OK.
Nurses very helpful.

While some friends who were induced and went for emergency csect at private hospitals, the bill was above RM 10K.
But it is all up to you.
You have the money, go to private but know your body.
Ask the doctor millions of questions if induction is needed. And lots of prayers.

And be patient while 'shopping' for obgyn! Some may be great to others but not us. Trust your instinct and see if you both have chemistry.
I changed Obgyn when I was four months pregnant because the doctor and the nurses at the medical centre did not ask about my medical history, no urine check up, etc. Just a simple hello and scan and thank you, your bill is rm100+.
We need a doctor who helps us with the pregnancy since it it our first.
Luckily my Obgyn at Putrajaya is a very good specialist.

Hi everyone.

Just sharing the experience from my wife and myself as she delivered at SJMC (Previously known as SDMC) on the 19-Mar 14.

We actually intended to deliver our baby girl via elective Csect on the 21st, gynae Dr. Siti Zaliha told us that it would cost around RM8,000.00 with pead cost. However a RM10,000.00 deposit is required upon check-in on the available date.

However my wife went into labour a few days earlier, and it was in the middle of the morning. Therefore an emergency csect was performed on her (Which was dangerous as she had her meal 3 hours prior to the emergency csec surgery) sometime 6am in the morning. Seeing that this was an emergency and gynae had to wake up in odd hours to perform the surgery, the bill totalled to RM 12,000.00 (I had to place a deposit still after they delivered our baby girl) with paed costs.

I highly recommend SJMC for anybody who's planning to give birth in a private hospital here.

Dr. Siti Zaliha is a very talented gynae that's for sure.

Our daughter's paed too, Dr. Angelina is also very good at what she does - her advise is very modernised unlike many of the paeds around.

Feel free to PM me if you need more info on delivering at SJMC and good luck to all to those who are about to deliver soon smile.gif

Most women these days fear the pains of being in labour and birth itself... that's why they opt for csec. Plus elective csecs are always cheaper than emergency csecs!

Recently I've got friend's whose wives delivered csec due to;

1. Breech Baby
2. Takut sakit rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
3. Lack of amniotic fluid
4. My wife herself delivered csec cos her pelvic bones are very cramp according the MRI scan which can cause fetal distress

Sorry to hear about your experience being induced. I was induced too but fortunately everything went well. It was my decision with my husband to induce as there was no sign of labor at all on the due date and we did not want to take any risk to wait for another week before dateline to induce. My doctor already explained the induce procedure and he guaranteed it will be success, if not C Sect will wait for me. Phew.

Even before my due date, my doctor allowed us to induce after 37-38 weeks in case husband needs to travel or need the same birthday but we were patiently waiting for the baby to come out naturally. I tried many things to induce labor, ignore all the "pantang" already like eating pineapples and etc, wash toilet, squating and walk few rounds a pasar malam, walk here walk there and even try to push my tummy! But none works and I was quite shock there was still no opening at all and only mild contraction on my due date. So I just had to ask for induce.

Overall experience, I would say I am glad we make the decision to induce. Not to that it is a smooth delivery (had to vaccum my baby though), it makes it easier for both of us to prepare since we know the timing. We had ample time to inform family, make few preparations and even asked the doctor to delay breaking my water sac just to wait for my husband to see it. But for next baby, I hope I can go for natural birth.

Anyway deliver my baby at Columbia Asia Setapak with Dr Suhaimi Hassan (Totally recommended!).
Total cost around 4K(3K+ me 800+ Baby) 3D 2N, induce and vaccum. (Vaccum charge is 700-800 based on my bill)
The service is great and they work very fast. I will still going there for my next and next baby. My baby also continue her monthly check up there.

3D, 2N package at Pantai Hospital Ampang with Dr Suhaimi Isa, induced + epidural + booked two beds in a two-bedded room so that I can accompany my wife, cost only RM3.5K. We managed the get the old rate, before the hike.

I'm very very well pleased with Dr Suhaimi Isa and nurses. I do not even mind paying MORE. I was expecting at least 6 to 12k.

Very happy and pleased.

Are you saying it's not possible to deliver under FPP scheme if you have check-ups elsewhere?
