kuntawakaw : what do you mean 'dram controller option'? i set to ganged mode. ganged mean dual channel right? what is 'llc'?

llc = load line calibration

ganged/unganged mode also dual channel ler

no..dual channel has nothing todo with that gang thingy..

just when u gang both 64bt controller working together (and i also don understand this, and dont bother to )
ungang will make the 64bit controller working individually..

llc is load line calibration

and average phenom IIs (Except 720 / 710 ) will run 3.5ghz on stock vcore.. 3.8 is possible with <1.4v but is normal to exceed 1.4v..
and 1.45v is no that high but, ur temp and ur mobo will decide it is high or not

1.45v i think still ok la, better don't exceed 1.5v. unsure.gif
usually we use unganged mode, also dual channel. biggrin.gif

ok my question regarding this thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/625156..
Things to ensure before OC
1) Your SATA harddisk is connected to a locked SATA port<--how do i know my SATA port locked or not? rclxub.gif
----- e.g. for K8N Neo2, SATA 1 & 2 ports are unlocked. Have to connect to SATA 3/4. If not, you'll get corrupted windows!!!

this guide is easy but since im a noob, kinda confius with my bios coz too much dtails..anywy,i giv u guys link how my bios look like icon_question.gif

so the llc need to set enable or disable?

1 more thing, the mobo temp (monitoring using aida64 extreme) show 35'C, but i can feel the chipset's heatsink is very hot when i touch it...

yo guys..after study out my bios i slowly understand i realize this guide http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/625156 kinda old but still can follow tongue.gif
i did follow until OC in windows part which is need to run CPU-Z 1st.. =

OC in windows (This is where the fun begins!!!)
1) Run CPU-Z, ensure
-----core speed is 2000 Mhz
-----voltage (vcore) around 1.35v
-----HT link <1000 Mhz (should be at 600Mhz)
-----Memory frequency <200Mhz (should be at 133Mhz)

and this is wht i get...

this is the highest clock i can boot. 264x15=3.97Ghz,
vcore set to 1.48v,
vdimm 1.55 @ 1400Mhz.
if i incease a bit (267x15=4.005Ghz) it will crash everytime after boot into windows. what should i do to break the 4.0ghz notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

for the CPU spread spectrum, just let it be auto or must set to enable or disable?
one more thing, ht link must be under 2000Mhz right? same as CPU/NB freq or not?

NB-->SB HT speed i set to 3X (can be set to 1x to 5x)

PCI Express bus(PCIEXP1) i set to 100Mhz (as this guide told me http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/625156)
NB<->SB Reference Clock Auto(i dont touch)
the rest as example bios pic

u know how it works right the ram dvider?

which part u dont understand? if u not sure what is that, meaning that is an advance setting.. u can leave to default
NB HT speed - try to make it as close to 1000mhz
HT width - leave auto can, put 16bit can.. any option still can
those SB HT i donno.. so either wait for others to come or jus leave auto..

cpu/9 is ur ramspeed is ur cpu clock divided by 9 ( but u have to times back 2 to get the effective speed)
and if u can see that is not a correct figure u set.

the exact figure should be
at 200mhz HTT - ram speed should be 667mhz (333mhz will be displayed on cpuz)
if at 230mhz HTT - ram speed should be 767mhz (383 wll be displayed on cpuz)

but this is normal for older entry level mobo..but i donno ur mobo which level..kekeke

i sapok.. later if the cpu-nb llc enable, u will have trouble adjusting vIMC to make the ram stable..

well.. try with lower cpu multi 1st.. and increase ur htt. if can, then only use higher multi..
but there are cases that ur system dont like certain multi much..so try different combo if HTTxmulti will possibly help
if u think u done everything, just give up 4ghz.. alot of ppl also cant reach the 4ghz.. yet again make it stable

cpu spread spectrum i always disable it..but still i donno what is tha laugh.gif

I think he meant HT@FSB Speed*CPU Multi, it has nothing to do with HTlink.. when oc'ing the HTlink speed should be maintain nearest to its default value smile.gif

In overclocking a phenom II cpu keep ur htlink speed below ur cpu-nb speed or maintain it nearest to its default 2k speed, to reduce the amount of vcore, u need to try using a combo of vcore + vimc, that usually works smile.gif
