my current citibank gold also is not free
have to call every year to waive
citibank will never gipe free for life cars unlike some otherbanks
now i am not sure about the  current platinum...dunno whether they will waive the fees every yr by request
Hopefully they will make it something like 12 minimum swipe within a year to get the annual fee automatically waived à la HSBC.

in order to buy air asia ticket, which card to use better? i.e ocbc, amex or hsbc?
Bank direct debit is much better. You do not have to pay the stupid convenience fee biggrin.gif

QUOTE(amores @ Dec 8 2010, 09:47 PM)
other than maybank visa debit card, is there any other card similar like this ?
i mean got visa / mastercard so I can swipe it as credit card but also withdraw money in atm.
but linked to the bank account, so if got cash in account can do transaction.  icon_idea.gif

also since I'm foreigner, the one that can be apply by a foreigner for a low 1st time deposit  rolleyes.gif
I wonder is this the right thread to ask for solution  sweat.gif
Plenty ... the next best one is Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card smile.gif

Went to Mobil and wanted to buy 20w-50 engine oil.
Told by cashier that all items in the mart are cash term only.
Took out a RM50 note and a RM5 note to pay for it. mad.gif
Darn, I missed a 5% rebate.

Have you guys tried buying anything from any Petronas Mesra outlets using cc? I buy my breakfast there almost daily and I'm really tempted to swipe even though the amount is below RM10. laugh.gif

From the CIMB Petronas card page it says:
QUOTE
2% Rebates - Enjoy 2% rebate* everytime you spend at PETRONAS Service stations and Mesra Outlets or get a 0.5% rebate on all other retail transactions

I tried once at the ttdi branch and the cashier told me I cannot use cc to pay for my RM6 or so purchase.

Hi guys, if I want to buy something online (product from oversea) and pay by credit card, which CC is best in terms of admin fee charges and rebate? Thanks!

Maybank cc offers 0.5% admin rate; but SCB Platinum earns triple Choice Points from transactions in foreign currency.

My application was also approved without a verification call. My card is 2 months old.

Not every applicant wil receive call, I think.

Thanks. 0.5% of the purchase made for the product is it?
Also, I remember reading in here somewhere that there's a card with 0% admin fee?

yes, i swipe DA at petronas saujana kajang to buy 2x gatorade rm4.30 (promo price that time) whistling.gif

DA can get 2% all station, while CIMB Petronas 2% only at Petronas.
OCBC is better, 5% all station. but OCBC denied my application twice doh.gif

Not everyone will get a call and myself included. They don't call but it does not mean they won't check you out. Normally those potential customers with good risk scoring won't get a call.

By placing a remark like that ... how would you rate yourself then ? Please don't generalize easily as this may create a false impression on readers here. We already have a problem with some readers expect a call from the bank every time they make a "large" transaction and they classify the bank to be bad because they don't receive the call. (Although the transaction is only a few hundred bucks)

Haven't you heard of "No news is good news".
They didn't call because all your details are correct and up-to-date. You should be happy they don't call you.

yes its good. no annual fee without any condition.

BUT, if u purchase airasia using this card, u still need to PAY for that stupid convenience fee!

only direct debit from online banking wont be charged, which are maybank2u, cimbclicks, pbebank (publicbank), ambank & bankrakyat!

You still have to pay for the convenience fee if you pay using a debit card. Therefore, the CIMB e.MasterCard won't help solving your problem.

What you need to do is to enroll for online banking and pay using direct debit. This way you won't have to pay for the convenience fee. However, please note that only direct debit from these 5 banks are supported for the time being. The 5 banks are :
- Maybank
- CIMB Bank
- Public Bank
- AMBank
- Bank Rakyat

i think clicks will be better than using credit card unless purchasing ticket which is rm2k to get the points to offset the stupid convenience fee.
