I am just talking out of experience..
e-drum hi-hat and crash/cymbals are really limited.. Just a few kind of sound.. You use 5A, 7A or whatever.. Broomstick also can.. Whack it, sound is the same..

For an interesting music (At least for me), your beat is consistent, but the sound is not boring..
With 1 kind of sound, after a few month, you will get bored with that kind of sound.. Could not get further by exploring how you hit to get what type of sound, bcuz it is so robotic.. Hahaha
*
true true.. the main weakness of e drum is the cymbal

There are brand new set for e-drum at the range of 3k actually.
I personally do not recommend e-drums. There are a lot of things that e-drums could not do, especially with the hi-hat.. E-drum hi hat sucks..
Another thing is the feeling.. The bass kick, you will be kicking into a hard pad.. Totally the different feeling of kicking into a bass skin of the bass drum.. That applies to other as well (Snare, tom tom)..

Symbols will be sucky (Only 1 or 2 kind of sound no matter how u hit it)

If you are serious, get an acoustic one for sure. But if you going for usual practice and just to keep touch with drum without having to worry of disturbing your neighbor, then you can go for e-drum..

Anyway. You can buy silence pad for acoustic drum. It can reduce the sound..
*
Not necessarily. If you have money to spend over RM20k plus on the high end Rolands and Yamaha's... Well, that's a different thing tongue.gif
That day played the DTXtreme. NICE WEI.

im staying in terrace house. Bought an acoustic drum. during daytime i play abit louder but not too loud. Just enough for me to practice the timing, stroke, and accents. Its do help to play soft as I find its harder to control when u trying to play soft. But at night, i slap all the silence pad. then just learn rudiments...

That is other say... 20-30k, of course you can get a better quality stuffs.. But 20-30k, not everyone on to it. An acoustic only cost 2-3k, and it is consider ok already..
So to reduce the sound and get same quality, need to amplify budget x10 times? Hahaha..

Guys...I wanna know if the outer steel layer of my drum rusted....can I change that part? Means can I send the drum back to a good drum maker and ask him re-make the drum with a new side steel for me???? I mean the whole drum set side steel's part also rusted already.

Look up Bob Gatzen on youtube, he has a whole video dedicated to tuning drums. It's pretty good, you'll definitely get a lot out of it.

Those are called hoops, and they're easily replaceable. Basically their function is to hold the head onto the drum.

There are three main kinds of hoops: triple-flanged (what you've shown), die-cast (more solid) and wood. Each have different characteristics and change the nature of the drum's sound...

Actually, this ties in with the question of tuning - I've heard it's easier to tune with die-cast hoops rather than triple-flanged, and that you get a more focused sound out of the die-cast. Another thing to do if you're having problems with drums going out of tune quickly would be to put in nylon washers with your lugs.

Thanks alot, panic. I would like to ask if i have a decent drum, a performance set, then which type of hoop will fit into my drum better? my drum wood had about 4-5 layers, forgotten what kinda woods it is.... is there hoop that made out of stainless steel? and be able to hold my drum firmly as well? in short...is there die case made of stainless steel and wads the normal price i can get for my drum (e.g: 1 snare and high, low mid tom??? will it cost like thousand per piece?
