The company is very considerative if they do offer such commensuration plan.Standard Questions during Interview

but... cant they just set a number, like 300 for petrol?
and if they think that rich kids dont pay full attention, then it's unfair to those rich kids who have good attitudes? |

i had an impromptu presentation too. was given 10 minutes to think what to present, given a whiteboard, pen and white paper (the back of my resume haha).
after that presented for 10 minutes and received positive feedbacks from the interviewer |

when filling up form before the interview, there will be a column there for my current employer. is it wise to write my superior name there and tick the box that allowed the interviewver to contact my superior?

Just do not tick the box that allows the interviewver to contact my superior. They would understand it because you may still be employed under the company and the interviewer calling your current supervisor might jeopardize your job.

QUOTE(hans.excel @ Mar 17 2006, 01:43 PM) if you set just 300 for petrol, spending more than 300 means you will have to get out of your own pocket lor there are pros and cons to each method: rate per km or one lump sum (eg. 300)rate per km -good if travel a lot (normally company compensate 0.3-0.8sen per km) -but if u travel less, then claim very minimal -this is inclusive of petrol and travel allowance lump sump -even not used up also can take balance -but like hans said, if use more, the teruk -normally if petrol claim come in lump sum, i believe they'll compensate travel allowance as well |

I attended an interview today and they asked a lot of "personal" related questions.
What makes you want to join the company? What makes you want to leave the company in the future? What're your strong values? What're your weakeness? Can you work for odd hours (CNY or any festivals), beyond normal working hours and Saturdays? |

QUOTE(easyjob @ Mar 22 2006, 02:38 PM) Ask questions that are not general, but perhaps more in-depth. (I'm not really good in IT so this paragraph is a bit vague) For e.g, in the IT line, let's say network field, you can ask about the current infrastructure. But then you really need to ask like you're asking something that's relevant to you... for e.g, if the answer is somehow implying that the infrastructure is really big/crucial, then make relevant comments like "Seems that the current structure is complying for the demand of a high-paced workforce". Most possibly your reply will be something like "Yup, its crucial that networks are not congested since we particularly focus on having instantaneous transactions for our XXX system since they support customer enquiries, etc, etc" From there, you can start saying things that can actually prove that you did your research like "I heard of the XXX system before, i believe its the backbone for global operations, correct?".... wooo... see how it goes??? You're actually having a very nice 'chat' session that will look good on your part.... Weaknesses? That's a tough one... Really needs to depend on what you're applying for. QUOTE(easyjob @ Mar 22 2006, 03:55 PM) ok... i've been asked this questions few times. most of the times i tried to joke to evade answering. but too bad, the interviewers laughed but still wanted answers! i found there is a tough question for me. wat is ur weaknesses. for me i just able to answer i'm fresh and lack in experience. am i correct? or wat is the right way to answer? for IT job. i think all the old-timers here have already put it bluntly and to the point- be honest. if u know ur weaknesses, do tell. BUT DO NOT STOP THERE . add in how you are going to overcome that weaknesses. or if u feel u urself too perfect of any weaknesses, then try to think of a positive trait of yours and inverted it. ie. if you are efficient at all cost, tell that u sometimes tend to be aggressive. aggressive = get work done fast. the point is to create a positive image of urself. if damage needs to be done, do it, but at least u must do some damage-control. well, there goes my opinion again. please feel free to correct me if i am wrong. |
