dun worry. seldom ppl can give answers like the Effective example. unless u're a robot and can say this stuffs out easily. it might also look like that u memorized it from the interviewer's point of view. better be yourself and just describe urself.

QUOTE(limauing @ Jul 22 2005, 07:40 PM) The post is "Embeded firmware Engineer". congrats man!The first interview I went was yesterday. They were quite please with me to be able to answer thier test. But just I messed up the question like what i stated before.. So now, they gave me a call again, asking me to go for a second interview with them again.. 1) What should i expect from this second interview? 2) Also, there were 4 person interviewing me.. Should i shake thier hands? Feel kind of weird.. wat's wrong with shaking 4 people's hand? i went to a second interview which had 3 interviewers. i shoke all their hands when i met then and right before i left. that's manners. well unless there's a muslim lady, u should not offer ur hand shake until she do so. usually for second interview, they would ask the dept ppl which u'll be fitted in to interview u. they wanna find out if u're suited for the job. so they would ask wat u like, give u a scenario etc and see how u answer. goodluck. |

i have had questions like
where you see yourself in 2 / 3 / 5 / 10 years? 2 years is a little too short. when they asked me that question, i said 2 years is too short. then they switch the question to 5 years instead |

QUOTE(nicwise @ Sep 25 2005, 05:07 PM) Interview is something that will test your reflex and how fast you come up with something sensible out of your mouth. I've never heard anyone who will tell the interviewer to skip the question so that he have time to think over an answer. The interviewer wants to see your immediate response and how you react to the question in real-time. If every question can be given ample time to think over, why not they just tell you what they gonna ask, and you answer them the next day... That is very very true. Your brains needs to think for the answer fast and it must be a good one too. The words you use are very crucial in an interview. It's better to pause in silence ( and think seriously) rather than giving the sound ahh hmm etc. Try to be concise and precise. No need long winded answersOne thing also is interviewer often don't like people to give lots of...hmmm...ah...ei...and the likes so better think fast, have an answer in your head and say it out in one coherent sentence. |

i had an impromptu presentation too. was given 10 minutes to think what to present, given a whiteboard, pen and white paper (the back of my resume haha).
after that presented for 10 minutes and received positive feedbacks from the interviewer |
