Can you explain about Personalization Card? smile.gif

*
Well, For my frist 1K service. I told them about my problem on the car
1. My Steering wheel, sepek a side. (they help me do alignment solved the problem)

I do ask them about pick up problem, and I share with them about RON 95, and RON 97 pick up issue. They told me best to use RON 97 on 2.0, for 1.6 they say it is not as good as 2.0 and RON 97 will be a waste to pump in 1.6 (I think it is because we can't feel the different between RON 97 VS RON 95 in 1.6 car).. this we might need other 1.6 Mazdarian to varify smile.gif

Road Noise - They say is normal for my 17" Rim with Sport Tayar... (anyone got suggestion how to reduce the noise?)

So far, how is ur FC?

stock 17" Toyo is meant for performance not the comfort drive.

The best solution for road noise is change to comfort types of rubber or maybe sound proof arch /fender area.

Today , I got a chance to look inside the door panel during tinting process and there was no sound proofing material stick to the metal .BTW the i'm driving 1.6

For 1.6 , RON 97 also give some small better significant toward the pick compare to RON 95.

The personalization card. Some countries give it out with the new Mazda cars and owners can bring it back to have some stuff configured. I believe the list is on the last few pages of the owner manual. Section 10-9 maybe? It includes headlight, illumination entry, smart turn, power door locks, etc etc.

When I did my free servicing, I asked abt alignment and they asked me to go do it outside as they dun have the tools/machine. Is alignment supposed to be covered in the free service?

Well, you can actually get Tons / Lots of Mazda 2 Acc from Thailand smile.gif.. But there is 1 thing I am finding.. the Door Step grow with "Mazda 3" wording. I am not sure is there any in Thailand market, but will ask my friend who do car spare parts (Car Potong) one to find and see..

Thanks for the comment. Another question, when i press my fuel pedal slowly to drive, the engine sound strange like the gear delay to change from 1st gear to 2nd gear. Notice like the gear loose for few second and grab back. Aiyooo....dono to explain. Hehehehe!!

I think I know what you mean, is it when you push your car pedal from the initial move there is an engine weird sound like shift gear changing? I'm driving 1.6l and I got the feeling of that too...

RON97 on 2.0 is smoother, less hard pressing the pedal and FC is the same though compare with RON95

I'm in Miri. There's 4 Miri plate M3's that I know of and I see one with Kuching plates that's out here once in a while.

Of the 4 here in Miri, three are white (including mine) and one black one. The one from Kuching is also white but with a black top.

For 1st to 2nd gear it is normal you will feel the delay.. but after that will be smooth.. smile.gif else you can play with the Manual Mode (even it is 0.5 sec slow in response.. but still fine with me)

RON 95 RM 1.85 x 37L = RM 68.45 = Can go 400KM | 1L Goes 10.81KM

Hey guys... spotted more m3 sports on the road noawadys.. Sometimes will see some normal mazda 3 as well. Is the mazda3 sports considered a new model or it's totally the same with the normal model besides the addition of the bodykit?

Just a head's up to whoever is buying cargo accessories from overseas.

The model we're having in Malaysia has a deeper boot, so things like trays and cargo mat, might not fit on the lower right side (where there is a gap in the boot's wall).

Edit: I know that the cargo net which is suppose to stretch across the floor of the boot, is actually suspended in the air.. kinda defeats the purpose of having it.. lol.. it now looks like one of those safety nets for the circus' acrobatic acts. Will try to get a picture in later for you all.

Also, what is a good website to upload pictures? I usually use TinyPic, but apparently some idiot got Malaysia banned...

I think what you mean by normal mazda 3 = 1.6, with bodykit one should be 2.0 laugh.gif

Malaysia only got Mazda 3 Sport, don't have Lite version or what so ever..

I think some Mazda 3 1.6L also have the word "sport" on the backside. The way to tell the difference between 1.6 and 2.0 is the LED brakelights, paddleshifts, 17" rims on the 2.0.

The most obvious way to tell a difference is the black plastic bumper at the lower rear end for the 1.6. Side = rims, front = xenon or fog lamp.

Hi all mazda3 fans out there, need some opinions from you icon_question.gif

Like many others out there, i am caught in between the mazda3 and corolla altis. I have actually tested driving both cars, and i must say i am totally captivated by the mazda3, for the driving pleasure and the overall outlook of the car.

But below few points made me reconsider the options:

1. Depreciation rate. Everyone says the mazda will depreciate much more than the toyota. But can anyone help to put some facts and figures to put thing into perspective?

2. Maintenance cost. Will the mazda has higher maintenance cost in the long run? Due to higher cost of spare parts?

3. After sales service. How's the after sales service for Mazda in terms of the service provided at the service center? Do they always lack of equipments? parts? Ignoring customers complaints?

1. Well, I wonder why you need to care about depreciation rate? If you wish to buy the car and just use it for 3-5 years then sell it off, then better go for Toyota Altis.. We buy Mazda 3 is because the Spirit of Zoom-Zoom, royal fans of Mazda..who love driving passion and style.. and don't forget about the Car Design smile.gif.

2. Well currently Mazda offer 3 years (free Maintenance Plan), for the spare parts, I am not sure.. but for what I know I get it from my Hometown will be cheaper than KL.

3. So far so good for me.. smile.gif because I am new.

CKD ain't really a good news in this country if you concern more in qualities, but there is always hopes, just 'hopes'.

About the MPS & refer to the web site you given,
estimated price of CKD MPS - full spec shall just slightly lesser than M6 2.0, or maybe slightly higher??
To me, I believe waiting for the MPS isn't a wise choise.
Just my 2cents.

Correct me if I am wrong, but these are two things I know/hear about the Mazda 3 MPS.

It's only available as a hatchback, so it's bad news for sedan lovers; and like the current batch of Mazda 3s, it'll be CBU directly from Japan.

ariesto most likely got that from Delvin's statement of... "CBU JAPAN Mazda 3 will likely see its final shipment in Dec 2010 or Jan 2011. After that all Mazda 3 will be CKD.". CKD for mainstream Mazda 3s (1.6 & 2.0) makes sense, as they would be selling more of them, but having it for the Mazda 3 MPS as well would be silly, as I am sure those would be sold in limited quantity. Not everyone has RM 200k to blow on a sports hatchback.

Edit: Added emphasis on the all.

I have no idea with regards to the difference between CBU and CKD. I would assume it is all up to the company and manufacturer involved and how much cost do they want to save. It's all a gamble at the moment, it may be just as good, just local labour, or it might have some local parts, which may be of either higher or lower grade, we'll never know. I have even heard that the colour choices might even change, or even the specification (gaining or losing things). Will have to wait for an official announcement to really know.

just compare the quality different between CBU civic and local CKD civic, design same but material quality, fit and finish will be different. u can have a look at s'pore CBU civic. and yes we will have malysia plastic material to reduce cost and by the same time to maximize the profit. but if CKD mazda3 priced below 100k it will be a big hit but i doubt so doh.gif

On another note, Yeoh said he was targeting to sell 300 units of the Mazda3 Sport within the next 12 months.

He added that the first 100 customers would be offered a special launch price of RM108,000 and RM128,000 (on-the-road without insurance) for the 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre Mazda3 Sport models respectively.

Alamak... Do check the source. It's dated mid-2009, very outdated. LoL

It's was just used as an indication. Highly likely that the 'introductory' price quoted in the news article is for the first batch of 2010 Mazda 3 that hit our shores more than a year ago.

Well Guys, FYI the MPS will be the only Mazda 3 we will be importing in from Japan. it will be the same as the type r which Honda import from japan. Base on my knowledge, most parts for the Mazda 3 will still be imported from Japan thus I doubt that it will affect the quality. The reason that Mazda set up a plant here is mostly due to the overdemand of M3 in Asia region and to rely on the Hiroshima plant alone isn't sufficent. The price will also be reduce due to lesser tax paid to the goverment. This way we can direct compete with some of the auto makers here. The first unit of CKD Mazda 3 haven't roll out so I can't say much bout it's quality.

Haha, I just made a lowest estimation, according from the provided link, it's even more expansive than the M6 2.5 - full spec. tongue.gif

Since M6 going to be CKD too, hopefully the price is real attractive to compensate the local assembly concern,
otherwise MAZDA should really put full efforts in local labor quality.

You need to be careful when making some of these comparisons, make sure to double check the actual differences between the specifications. I know for a face that the Mazda 3 2.0 that we get here has more gadgets and accessories than the Mazda 3 SP 25 in Australia, minus Bluetooth, Traction Control and the 2.5L engine and maybe a few other things here and there, can't remember.

Sorry, I am a bit busy today so I am not going to search it for you.

Check out somewhere towards the end of the previous version of the Mazda 3 thread (link on the first page of this thread).

From memory, someone changed their rims for the 1.6 model. Stability = better and FC said to be better for highway, but poorer for city.

Sorry... but i don't quite get it. Why did your uncle laugh at the battery? Is it because it is still using the 'old fashioned' water type?
*
Mostly properly smile.gif, let me open up my battery box and see tomorrow...

Tomorrow, I am going to pump full tank again and compare x KM vs RM x.. so far 3 bar left, and 487KM.. will do my math tomorrow and let you guys know smile.gif

This is what I found out from RIM size, for the car 1.6 best to use 15" for better FC.. While 2.0 can have better FC on 17" RIM. Reason that I found out is..
1. You won't need so much engine power to push a 15" RIM compare to 17"... in first hand you saved some petrol, by not pressing too much petrol to move your car.
2. As long as your RIM + Tayar not heavier than stock weight then you can better FC.
icon_rolleyes.gif Hope above tips help.. (and valid too)

"Opt for the R Grade and your Mazda 2 will roll on low profile 195/45 R16 rubber while the V Grade does with 185/55 R15 tyres."

If they use R16 then is low profile Tayar. then R15 is on normal Tayar smile.gif

so do you understand the meaning of

2. As long as your RIM + Tayar not heavier than stock weight then you can better FC.

VIVA
Pro - Good FC on Jam
Con - Small Car, The higher speed you go (drag) the higher FC tongue.gif

Mazda 3
Pro - High Speed Cruse, Comfort Drive
Con - High FC when Jam

Here is ur conclusion smile.gif

Well we can set the TT at Nov, no worry. We need to start something here, before this thread go into Cold Storage tongue.gif

I think the OEM fog light cost around rm1200 not inclusive installation fee

For tint film , I put the best tint (3M) for front screen only and double tint for window with good tint with low price. it cost less rm1300 for whole car

Visited the showroom today and the SA mentioned that for Mazda 3:

1. Next year Mazda 3 will be CKD. No more CBU Japan. Price to be 5k cheaper
2. No discounts given
3. Ready stock especially for Pearl White because they ordered extra as it is in the most demand

Considering to get a Mazda 3 2.0. Really good deal if you compare with the T & H similar priced cars.

Ooo tempted..the problem is...change headunit will void warranty. So Iam thinking of changing to premium speakers first, after 3 years change HU.
So far I thinking of Dynaudios cause I used to have a pair of Hi-Fi speakers by them. Got recomend ah..as I heard many fakes around!! ohmy.gif

Thats why I am not sure of this claim from the SA. Maybe telling me story? Anyone more familiar with Bermaz can comment? Delvin?

He didn't mention any thing added to CKD model. To me I think it will be status quo or components substituted with poorer quality parts.

hello guys..

do we really need to rotate the tyres after 10000km? because last time i done my 2nd service at 7000km, they said no need (i think this is optional), and just wait for the third service (17000km) then they will rotate it.

anyone already done this? hmm.gif

Tyres Rotate (Left Right) / Exchange (Back Front) is needed for every 10k (base on manual) - But we need to check our tyres often, if we found the line not even then is time to do Rotate/Exchange and some some balancing smile.gif

*
There will be a CKD version released next year. Not sure how much is the price difference but was told it would be cheaper than the current models. The specs and launch date is not confirmed yet.

Is the Mazda3 white really a pearl white or a solid white? From visual sighting on the road it looks like the solid white and not like the Altis & Camry pearl white which is quite shiny and glimmering.

hello guys..

do we really need to rotate the tyres after 10000km?  because last time i done my 2nd service at 7000km, they said no need (i think this is optional), and just wait for the third service (17000km) then they will rotate it.

anyone already done this?  hmm.gif
*
Rotation MUST be done every 10K to ensure all 4 'low profile' tires wear evenly,
otherwise your tires needed to be change very very soon.

Tire rotation wouldn't cost you much,
outside tire shop normally charge RM60++ including balancing+alignment,
Mazda authorize dealer is RM90++.

Well, I feel my car Loss power when I using RON 95. If you do mixing RON 95 and RON 97, you will face the problem of losing power as well.. Currently my car also touching 3,000KM, and when I pump RON 95 it do loss some power, wanna change back to RON 97 again and see the effect.

SA mentioned its going to be 5k cheaper. To me the price difference seems very little for a CBU and CKD. Secondly as its towards year end the car will quickly become a year older. There is no promotion too so overall it makes it tough to go for the car.

With CKD there should be a slight price drop. Bermaz is quite adamant on discounts which is good for the brand. Rather they give freebies e.g. free service than drop price to maintain resale value.

I think what is being implied here is that, it does not matter when you purchased your car. January 2010 or December 2010. Both will have the tag "2010" on your car when it comes to selling it in the future, hence it's better to get a Jan 2010 and use it for almost 12 months, and yet it'll sell as well as a December 2010 car, with all other variables being equal. smile.gif

ya, I heard from PJ Showroom Lady SA told me so. Just 5k cheaper, but the car spec we don't know yet.. will it be the same? or will have some additional features like i-Stop, AFS, Color LCD?

I think I should start compile a list of people who want to buy Original RIM and who plan to sell Original RIM and change to sport RIM.. Let start here.

Who want to purchase Original RIM?
1. SSaturn
2. (Who else?)
3.
4.

I don't know, that why now asking if any one selling their RIM, then we 4 of us get from him. It is win win situation smile.gif..

1. Seller won't lost much money by selling Ori Rim

1. Buyer benefit won't pay so much money to get Ori Rim

Basically we just try to limit down the middle man business..

Thats why I am not sure of this claim from the SA. Maybe telling me story? Anyone more familiar with Bermaz can comment? Delvin?

He didn't mention any thing added to CKD model. To me I think it will be status quo or components substituted with poorer quality parts.
*
Well, i'm not allow to reveal much about my company plans before they official announce it.
just a couple of hint to u guys...but don't mention it's from me if u encounter any Mazda Staff... brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

Yes, from next year 2011 onwards...we will stop importing Mazda 3 Sport 1.6 & 2.0 Sedan & Hatchback from Japan.
The only Mazda 3 we import from Japan will be the MPS which is price way below the FDR2...(FYI, Our MPS Spec is Higher) Open for booking now..call me ya nod.gif nod.gif

Price for CKD Mazda 3 will be reduce around 5K (not 100% confirmed so pls don't take it so seriously)
but in order for Mazda to built a stronghold here in Malaysia, the price will be cheaper than T&H.

I believe most parts will still be source from Japan as there ain't much contractors here building parts for Mazda...
N our CKD Mazda 3 will be a export quality so rest assured on the quality.

ps: All info given are not 100% accurate. it's just a guide for those who are choosing between the CBU and CKD.
just my 2 cents, a locally build car can never compare to a Japan make car. Just look at our neighbour Civic and ours... doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif for those that are following this topic and wanted to get a Mazda 3. Pls do so by Dec 2010.

U can pm me or call me as i can offer u more freebies and lower rates now.. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Just check the tag next to the driver's seat when you open the door? o.o

Mine is 33 psi at the moment since it's usually just me and my girl friend. Might keep it at 34 one day or even 35 for those 'just in case' situation when more people comes in. 2.0 Hatchback.

Today go to mazda glenmarie, ask them to change sport rim to 17 inch. They said, if you want to change sport rim 17 inch, they have to tune the gearbox setting and etc. They said, it will increase your fc, low pickup, steering will heavy. Aiyoo... make me think twice before changing my sport rim.

if u using lightweight local or import brand 17" rim for m3 1.6 not much differing of Fc..handling more better..might be pickup a bit low..but stock m3 15" rim quite heavy..i think not much different of pickup..im using 17" on my m3 2008 last time..

*
even u change to 16" , still need to go for engine calibration

what is ur priority? looks ? stability ? steering will heavy? ( how about 2.0? )

You guys should try using "Nitrogen gas" ... keeps tyre pressures more constant and improves the ride quality. Try it, (if you guys havent') smile.gif

O.O

Where does one find this Nitrogen Gas for tyres? LoL

It's a balance between comfort, performance and fuel efficiency.

A car like the Mazda 3 is about 1300 to 1400 kg. Can't remember which one. 1300 I think. The weight places pressure on the tyres, so that's why you fill it up with air, to hold the car up. 2 fei chai already add 200kg.. so from 1300 to 1500.. let's say 5 fei chai with their food and all in the boot.. that brings the car almost to 2000 kg already..

The difference in weight will place different pressure on the tyres.

Too little, the car uses more power to move the tyres, since it gets flattened by the weight and isn't a as circular as with more air.

Too much air, the tyres will be hard as rock, but of course you'll feel every single ant and fleas you drive over in addition to what you feel because of the sports tuned suspension.

So it's more of a balance thing, you want to try and get the 'smoothest' ride as possible as well as the best performance. The rule of equivalent exchange.

That's a very simple explanation. I am sure there might be more. Hope this helps.

So to answer your second question, you can pump full load every time, just that after 3 hours journey, your buntuk will feel sore.

Hey bro... thanks so much for the reply. Never knew that filling full load for the tyre will make a bumpier ride... thanks for the info notworthy.gif

You will only feel bumpier if you inflate all 4 tyres to 5person load but with actual 2~3 passenger.
So no need to inflate full load if you normally drive with 2~3 passenger.

I changed from stock 15'' to stock 17'' but I didn't feel any hard ride, oversteer etc.

In fact, I am getting an average FC around 7.6L/100km which is, to my driving pattern, much or less the same with my stock 15'' before.

I still am enjoying the superb ride and handling at the moment...so I dunno if I really need a gearbox re-calibration etc.

Those 17'' were stock M3 2.0 rims, the owner must have changed to 18'' or something.

I ain't gonna do any promo to them but I change it at GS. They told me it wouldn't hurt the warranty.

4 x 17'' + 4 x 215/45 tyres + installation - trade in stock 15 + tyres = 2.5K.

Perhaps it's not the best deal you can get, but those 17'' are only 2-3 months old I reckon (the 2.0 owner's plate owner is kinda new too)...

a) which shop in KL/PJ accepts Toyo trade in (as some shops don't accept them)
b) what's a good brand/model to replace the 205/50r17 tyres - budget below RM350per pc, good grip, low noise

thanks guys...

Hi Guys,

I just check from following web site to compare upgradging from my current 15" stock rims and stock tyre (195/65/R15) to 16" rim with tyre 205/55/R16 or 17" rims with 205/50/R17:

The results are shown as below:

if u worried about fuel consumption and performance , then go for 16 " .

just remember , we can't expect good performance from 1.6 liter .

why mazda limit only up to 180 for 1.6?

Thanks for the tyre v. rim comfig tools, ricolim.

I just figured out that if you really want to upgrade 15'' to 17'', u should go for 225/45 R17 tyres.

According to this config, your speedometer will works the same. See also that the rolling radius and total diameter is almost the same.

Oh..I meant that type which you depress the brake pedal then it will lock the door automatically or maybe at certain speed limit it will automatically lock as well.

It is a very good (rare) experience that you being escorted by police and causing traffic jam along LDP laugh.gif. at every over-bridge, the police open a middle lane for ALL Mazda owner to Zoom-Zoom over icon_idea.gif. Well I feel so sorry to all (non-Mazda car owner) on LDP that day, we cause traffic jam for them.. haha..

Well, I salute this guy! thumbup.gif .. He take care and protect us all the way from KL to Cherating. We met few road bully, trying to break our Mazda Formation.. For example, they cut into 3rd lane and squeeze between us and slow down their car speed.. It cause other Mazdarian can't catch up with the front convey... This happen in front of me, and I am trying to over take the car. So I speed up from the 3rd lane to 2nd lane and over take the road bully.. After my car is over take him, he suddenly speed up his car don't let me get back into 3rd lane in front of him (it almost cause me an accident!). I quickly slow down my car and back up to 2nd lane n slowly move back to 3rd lane from the back.. And 1 of our Mazda RX-8 from my back, "fuuu~!" over take me and the road bully car and cut in from 2nd lane toward 3rd lane, the road bully kejut and hit on break.. Then after that the road bully shifted his car from 3rd lane toward 2nd lane (I am not sure what that fellow plan to do next) but, our Rx-8 follow to shift from 3rd lane toward 2nd lane, blocking the road bully from over taking him... and at this time... "Fuuu~!!" our super Hero Macho Macha come to the rescue (that white car)! He come like a wind, tailgating the road bully and boxed the road bully from 2nd lane move to 1st lane.. Both of them RX-8 and Super Macho Macha cornered and slow that road bully down... (and I never see that road bully again laugh.gif)

Honestly, I hope Mazdarian can spend some time checking and make this tread active. It so sad, that it just active for a while and die off sad.gif

Honestly about the rim, we need to see it by our own eye and judge it. The feel must be there. 1.6 best stick with 16" and 2.0 stick with 17", and dont forget about the tyre cost in future.

and speaking about tyres...wud appreciate if anyone can advise :

a) which shop in KL/PJ accepts Toyo trade in (as some shops don't accept them)
b) what's a good brand/model to replace the 205/50r17 tyres - budget below RM350per pc, good grip, low noise

thanks guys...

Added on October 26, 2010, 5:20 pmjust to share with everyone who intend to trade in their Toyo tyres...not many neighbourhood shops accept Toyo trade in. One Mazda forumer recommended Tek Ming in Sunway. This is their offer to me:

Trade in value at RM120per pc, at the same time buy Michelin PS3 at rm495 per pc. Hence, it will cost RMRM375 to get new Michelin PS3. This is for 205/r50/17 tyre.

Balancing, alignment, etc, all in. Good deal?

I think there are some products in the market that u can check. 3M also has this sticker thing for bumper, its diamondbrite or something, but the price is like 1300-1500 per bumper... doh.gif

BTW, anyone did soundproofing M3 so far?
Been to GS lately to do alignment, they also do soundproofing but the costs for 4-doors is like 280/roll. M3 would need at least 2 rolls + workmanship 200. So total up to rm760 (it can be one more roll = rm1040).

That is only for the 4 doors. Cabin floor is not included (will costs more and more rm....)

Anybody has done it? What brand and where? Did the door soundproofing really affect your speakers' bass sound?

Maybe this may help, it's cheap and have good feedback from customers.

SEREMBAN: Spare-parts dealer Ong Eng Ching learnt the hard way that Global Positioning System (GPS) for vehicles is not really foolproof – at a very costly RM138,000.

That was the amount he had paid in cash for a used Toyota Fortuner which a company had put up for sale via tender.
Victim with a huge loss: Ong showing the police report he had lodged following the theft of his car from his home in Taman Merpati.

The father of three, who had wanted to take the family for more outings together, had successfully bid for the car.

“I then went to the insurance company to get cover for the car but was told to install an alarm system with GPS (global positioning system) first to prevent theft,’’ he said, adding that he then fixed the gadget for RM2,400.

However, he said the car was stolen from his house in Taman Merpati here while waiting for the transfer of ownership and insurance cover.

“I was about to leave for work at about 6am when I found the car missing from the porch. It was just a few days after installing the alarm system.

“I immediately alerted the GPS service provider and they told me that my car was detected near Bukit Paya at about 5am.

“But the company could not track down the car,’’ he told reporters at the office of Rasah MP Anthony Loke.

Ong said he was told fantastic things about the GPS system when it was sold to him.

“Now I have lost all my money as the car cannot be traced,’’ he said, adding that he could not recoup his losses because the car had no insurance cover.

Loke said he would seek legal advice on the matter.

“We want to assist Ong to see if he can recover some of his losses and if there was an element of negligence involved,” he said.

Loke said the authorities should also act against insurance companies which made it mandatory for car buyers to install additional security features to reduce the risk of the vehicles being stolen.

“Some of them simply refuse to provide coverage just to safeguard themselves,’’ he added.

Well bro, i personally think the undercarriage need soundproofing, since the road noise is there still.

It's not that bad, but I think it would be better if the road noise can be reduced even further, simply because we don't need them at all.

The engine bay soundproofing is superb; there are still people didn't realise my M3 approaching them from behind brows.gif

I done some research on sound proofing.. and I just back to my hometown.. looking for some car accessory here too smile.gif Hope they sell the LED light here cheaper. Well the main part we need to install the sound proof pad is..

1. The roof (if possible, scare void the warranty sad.gif )
2. The behind boot, this one easy but you need a good hand to stick the soundproof material around.. (I think this need the most)
3. Front Wheel (The are around the wheel, I don't know what that call), because i can feel some minor vibration inside the car where the Air Bag area.

Thing to find in my hometown.

1. LED Light for my car boot not the front tongue.gif
2. Audio Player? ( see any cheaper than KL or not )
3. some car accessory if possible.

The car is for you or family car purpose?
I don't think it best suit for family car due to the limited rear passenger leg room, especially the middle seat.
If it is for you & money is not the concern, for sure go for the 2.0L.

Yes and no. After being at the back of the new Honda City for a 3 hours trip and being at the back of a Mazda 3 Hatchback, these are my opinion.

I might not be the tallest at 172, but first impression of the Mazda 3 Hatchback was, nice head room, leg space not as big as the City's (maybe taller driver, don't know..) but it was very comfortable. Compared to the Honda City that had more leg space, but somehow I couldn't find a comfortable position on the rear seat, even with the reclining feature. Also, headroom on the City is bad. Can easily knock my head.

Just my own opinion. Of course Mazda 3's suspension not the best for long trips too. sweat.gif

Compared to the Honda City that had more leg space, but somehow I couldn't find a comfortable position on the rear seat, even with the reclining feature. Also, headroom on the City is bad. Can easily knock my head.

Just my own opinion. Of course Mazda 3's suspension not the best for long trips too.  sweat.gif

You already got your answer, as long as u like it then just go ahead.
Do keep in mind that Mazda3 shouldn't be comparing with city/vios, I would say they are consider Mazda2 range.
Mazda 3 should compare with civic/altis.

You reckon its a good time to get the car or wait for next year because even if I get the car next year its still 2010 stock.

Also my concerns are on the insurance side because by next year they will treat car at 1 year depreciated value.

guys,

my tyres are up for rotation (back to front and front to back) coz reach 10k mileage already. So i'm wondering if i can just walk into any tire shop to do this? how much roughly would that cost me? or should i ask the service center to do it for me?

thanks =)

Facelift? Next year? Anyone can confirm?

Referring to insurance. If we take up the insurance policy now the car is insured at full value but next year if there is any accident you can't claim full value because they would already depreciate the car by one year. So in that sense you are always paying more premium than the "market value".

Hope that makes sense and I got it right. ^^

Hi. What do you mean by that?

Just make sure whenever you renew your insurance, you are doing it at market value. Your insurance agent will always inflate the value a bit. Its up to you to check. Also remember that you need to take into account the overall resale value for 1 year of premium and not just at the month of renewal.

For example, when u renew your insurance in January your car value will be about 80,000. But towards end of the year your resale value has dropped to about 75,000. So when u renew in January dont take your renewal coverage at 80,000. Just put it at 77,000. Always try and get a median but nearer to the resale value at the end of the renewal cycle.

Hi guys,

I'm thinking to buy a used Mazda 3 1.6L. Just found this thread and think to ask all the Mazda kaki here for opinion.

Weird thing i find that the ad says 15 month old. But the registration year is 2010.
How can that be? If really 15 months then should be 2009 right? But the pic is new smiley face design wor....which is 2010 only come out right?

BTW, Mazda 3 1.6L for sports meh? I thought the Sports only applicable for 2.0?

after driving for almost 6k, and i realised this, and I wonder is it normal

1. Everytime the RPM must push until 3K only the gear will change.
2. When you turn the stering left and right you will heard sound like some motor is moving.
3. 135k car, sound proof is really lousy, but engine sound proof is damn good. What is the purpose of this?

1. Press acc pedal gently even 2k rpm below can upshift.
2. EHPAS motor is moving
3. Yes lousy, at least engine noise isolated nicely. Should take a look underneath the car, their metal sheet is exposed no bitumen at all!!! But I like it.. Look shining. Plan to do autofoam later on.
4. Mine 2.0 engine got slightly vibration evrytime i ignite the engine, is this normal? Cold or hot start also same.

Forget about the 15month old tag. Cars age are determined according to the year of manufacture. So regardless which month you bought, the car age is always in multiples of 12. For example 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, etc. No such thing as 1.5 years.

If you bought a 2010 manufactured car in December 2010 and sold it in May 2011, your car is considered a 1 year old car even though by actual age its only 7 months old.

You should always ask what is the year of manufacture before buying any car. That's why almost all car manufacturers are having sales now to push off the 2010 stock.

The engine bay is superbly noise-proofed until people who walk in front of your car could not detect your M3 approaching.

You yourself also will have a hard time noticing the engine sound, unless you rev it up.

However the sound-proofing at the undercarriage and front fender are is very bad. You should be enjoying better sound from the speakers, with quieter cabin. Not to mention smoother ride...

It's going for around rm93k. So it's 2009 manufactured I am guessing.
NEW M3 1.6 will be rm111k??? Can discount until how much ar now since year end?
...so 2 years drop almost 18k.
mileage is low at 20k only.
What do you guys think? Good deal?

So many choices.... CKD or CBU
This year or next...
1.6 or 2.0

Added on November 21, 2010, 11:31 pmI am guessing here but maybe Mazda owners don't have that many complaints compared to local or other Japanese or Korean car owners is because it's all CBU only?

In my opinion, definately worth the 20k but the downside is you will be going to burn your pocket when you renew the insurance and road tax

I could not agree less.

That's the reason why they can chop you up. Whatever they did would not void warranty.

I seriously need undercarriage soundproofing. For the quality of life / ride.

The ride + handling is fun and engaging. The design is sleek and sporty. The interior finishing and cockpit looks luxurious. It's like a mini BMW (quoted from a car review somewhere in the net). So why not ok?

Furthermore, you bought it at the price that you feel comfortable to spend.

Do remember car price will depreciate anyway...

Isn't the foam dampening the echo of the sound thru the cabin?

I do also seriously thinking about soundproofing, but considering also the price and effectiveness, coz there are few products out there...

It's not so noticeable when u have the stereo on. And it's all tire noise due to the 17" low profile tires I guess.
Anyone done soundproofing?

Low profile is part of the reason, another reason is because of performance tires, moreover it's a TOYO.
On very rough road, the tire noise can even cover the stereo sound unless you tune the audio volume rather high.

Yeah the tire factor is quite true.

But I don't want to compromise the "potong air" properties as well. If you get quieter tires, the potong air props would be lower.

That leaves you to the only option - soundproofing.

Anyway its not so bad, the road noise from wira, satria or viva is 50% higher IMHO.

dont bother about the noise 1st.. the tyre contribute a lot to the noise, but the tyre superb i can say.. drive 120 during heavy rain also controllable. You can always change the tyre to the silent one once u bought AND DONT FORGET TO SELL THE TOYO TO ME!!! smile.gif

if i'm not mistaken the autofoam will reduce the vibration in ur hollow section of chasis and also improve the rigidity of chasis. but i think not much noise will be reduce.

I have been going through the old threads and it seems when the m3 was newly launched in 2009 there was issue with getting the spare parts.
Any such issues anymore? Hopefully other m3 owners will share their experience bcos I think this is one main reason ppl go for more common cars like civic.

hye guys.

just done my third service at Bermaz PJ, first time here actually, last 2 times done it at JB. but it takes too long about 3hours 10mins (JB only like less than 40mins). maybe due to many cars sweat.gif

anyway, other aspects of services, i can say perfect! rclxm9.gif done the tyre rotation too, and its free coz not includes any balancing or alignment.

after that i stop by at GS, asking for body kit (that black thing, somebody already mentioned here). they dont have but only the front bumper cost RM750 blink.gif

okay, anyone joining TT tomorrow? see u there..

SA mentioned that it will be approximately 5k cheaper but I can't confirm it. I don't its really going to bring in sales because those who buy a Mazda main concerns are not resale value or price (up to a certain extent). They are looking for driving dynamics, CBU quality, exclusivity.

Its a delicate balance because you can't significantly undercut CBU price or resale value will be affected. One other way is to add more accessories to maintain prices.

Yes actually, RON97 smoother for pickup... sometimes when u pump RON95 on different petrol station u also feel not that powerful.. When I pump RON95 for Petronas I can feel weak while driving..
This is my point of view of course, might be diff from you all..

Yeah. But still very few m3. So nvmla.
Alternative is black. But even tougher to clean.
Aluminium too much like my old wira.
Not really keen on the rest.

But I wish there is more red elements in the m3. The really sporty like the type-r.
Now only tail lights are red right?

Added on December 3, 2010, 8:50 amAny of u guys put 3m crystalline on the m3? Any problem with gps and smart tag?

Anyone has done any suspension modification to the M3 yet? as much as our car handles well...i still feel its not enough haha

Looking first to do a front strut bar... then perhaps sports springs such as Eibach springs. I m just worried how much it will affect the car going into basement car parks and all. Cos the front overhang of the M3 is too long already

Anyone tried with 3M Crystalline? I researched and it seems the heat rejection is top notch.
The GPS signal from the online site also says no issue.
But for the SmartTag got problem because of IR signals being blocked.
But GS there says they will no tint the top centre part of the M3 (looks like a box?)

no daylight LED? what do u mean? arent those LED stripes used as daylight LEDs?
GS recommended me some LEDs to be installed on the bumpers....the empty gaps at both left and right hand......tempting to do so.

The 2.0 headlamps are so bland....although it's xenon lar.

Definitely, their LED size are bigger and of course quality should be better than those cheapo LED.
Another thing is the space between each LED, the gap of the audi's 1 are big, this make it looks even nicer from far.

From the picture shown, the DRL are like entirely brighten, you don't see the gaps at all, might be the pictures or the drl itself.

Other than that, as what the above had mentioned, the price are chopping waterfish only......

collected my ride on last thursday night. all in all, what an exciting car to drive, loving it so much. only one complain though, the road noise is slightly too loud when cruising on highway...

anyway, anyone knows if there are any black headlights and taillights covers for sale... i mean something like on some of the previous generation mazda 3.

thanks alot.

Yeah no wiring but it's still opening it up right. So later lets say got leak or something. And water comes in due to the leak that cause a short circuit. Then?
Alternative may be to go with GS but how much will it cost? Do they do these sort of mods?

Hi all,

Is it anybody have experience servicing car at EXCELCAR SERVICES Bandar Sri Damansara ? ..Just went for 1K service and seems nobody there. Only my car and one M6. No need to make an appointment ...just go. During service my car there is no other cars even for
other brand such as Hyundai and Kia. This service center is panel for Kia and Hyundai as well.

For those who did their service there please share your experience. Good or not? Quite near with my house and very convenience for me. The only thing is that the workmanship is good or not.

Just curious.

I cannot start my car after 5 days i leave it under porch. Since my car only 16 months old , I quite shocked when found that my car battery almost kong..

Checked the battery fluid level and it almost empty ...top up then jump start the car.

For all of M3 owner, please check ur battery fluid regularly . I just serviced my car couple weeks before!

From my fast experience , normal battery can last at least 24 months ,

Mazda 3 1.6 using NS40 and it quite small compare to the the housing that can fit in NS60

The Mazda 3 is somehow using the old fluid type battery which u need to add fluid every now and then. If u do it every few months then the battery can last for years. Otherwise will be like your case. If change to the dry type battery the. It's maintenance free for couple of years.

It's very subjective to comment batteries life can last for how long.
I would say 2 years is possible but it's all depending on your usage & maintenance.

My car is 12 months old, I leave it for 15 days and it started just in one ignition. thumbup.gif

my previous car battery last for 2.5 yrs (normal one) ...SC always check /top up battery fluid every times i sent for service.

If the SC check up my battery level during last service , i think the result wont be like this.

battery only covered up to 12 months , may be that why they dont check it on my last visit to SC

great lesson for me blink.gif

Most of the time I serviced my car at Jalan Ampang , so better save than sorry . doh.gif

That's good enough alredi. Mine average 7.5L/100km.
