Hi guys,

I'm thinking to buy a used Mazda 3 1.6L. Just found this thread and think to ask all the Mazda kaki here for opinion.

Weird thing i find that the ad says 15 month old. But the registration year is 2010.
How can that be? If really 15 months then should be 2009 right? But the pic is new smiley face design wor....which is 2010 only come out right?

BTW, Mazda 3 1.6L for sports meh? I thought the Sports only applicable for 2.0?

Forget about the 15month old tag. Cars age are determined according to the year of manufacture. So regardless which month you bought, the car age is always in multiples of 12. For example 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, etc. No such thing as 1.5 years.

If you bought a 2010 manufactured car in December 2010 and sold it in May 2011, your car is considered a 1 year old car even though by actual age its only 7 months old.

You should always ask what is the year of manufacture before buying any car. That's why almost all car manufacturers are having sales now to push off the 2010 stock.

It's going for around rm93k. So it's 2009 manufactured I am guessing.
NEW M3 1.6 will be rm111k??? Can discount until how much ar now since year end?
...so 2 years drop almost 18k.
mileage is low at 20k only.
What do you guys think? Good deal?

its still minimal but still can felt the car shaking a bit, will ask the SC to check in my 30k km service.
for me its a good deal.. the depreciation value is always on high side during 1-3 year. but if i were u i'll try to search for fully loaded 2.0 model if im not mistaken the 2009 model sold at 11X XXX.

U mean the 2009 model without smiley face Izit? If the late 2009 model with smiley face won't be so cheap right?

So many choices.... CKD or CBU
This year or next...
1.6 or 2.0

Added on November 21, 2010, 11:31 pmI am guessing here but maybe Mazda owners don't have that many complaints compared to local or other Japanese or Korean car owners is because it's all CBU only?

In my opinion, definately worth the 20k but the downside is you will be going to burn your pocket when you renew the insurance and road tax

How much more for insurance and road tax ?

Soundproofing for M3 usually cost how much?? Seems like the sound is really troublesome eh? hmm.gif

It's not so noticeable when u have the stereo on. And it's all tire noise due to the 17" low profile tires I guess.
Anyone done soundproofing?

dont bother about the noise 1st.. the tyre contribute a lot to the noise, but the tyre superb i can say.. drive 120 during heavy rain also controllable. You can always change the tyre to the silent one once u bought AND DONT FORGET TO SELL THE TOYO TO ME!!! smile.gif

if i'm not mistaken the autofoam will reduce the vibration in ur hollow section of chasis and also improve the rigidity of chasis. but i think not much noise will be reduce.

They have another product for soundproofing.

I have been going through the old threads and it seems when the m3 was newly launched in 2009 there was issue with getting the spare parts.
Any such issues anymore? Hopefully other m3 owners will share their experience bcos I think this is one main reason ppl go for more common cars like civic.
