Juz wondering if u all got to "personalize" ur cars. Did u get a personalization card with the new car?
I'm interested in turning on the Smart Turn Signal. Anybody done it yet?

The personalization card. Some countries give it out with the new Mazda cars and owners can bring it back to have some stuff configured. I believe the list is on the last few pages of the owner manual. Section 10-9 maybe? It includes headlight, illumination entry, smart turn, power door locks, etc etc.

When I did my free servicing, I asked abt alignment and they asked me to go do it outside as they dun have the tools/machine. Is alignment supposed to be covered in the free service?

I think some Mazda 3 1.6L also have the word "sport" on the backside. The way to tell the difference between 1.6 and 2.0 is the LED brakelights, paddleshifts, 17" rims on the 2.0.

guys.. just wondering.. Is 2.0 car like Mazda capable of consuming twice as much as petrol for a 1.5 car ... if being used in city at kl all the time?
*
Twice as much? I doubt so. It also depends on how you accelerate in start stop situations. You may not be able to resist the zoom zoom spirit, and floor the accelerator when the lights turn green.
But if you drive gently, not accelerating excessively, it won't be twice as much. More, yes it will be.

Isin't the full tank capacity 55L?

Have you tried ron97? Any difference? My SC recommended me to pump ron97, I've not tried ron95 since I got the car 1yr ago.

HX 7 is semi-syn (10w-40). If u wan them to change to fully syn, have to top up abt RM140, they will put in Helix Ultra, which is fully syn (5w-40). I've not tried the Helix Ultra, as I was thinking 10w-40 and 5w-40 is the same viscosity (40) when warmed up. If I were to use a fully syn, I will like to use 5w-20 or 5w-30. Currently I service every 7000-8000km, to play on the safe side.

Delvin, can we bring our own unopened engine oil to do service?

Not sure, unless different SC different standards? Which shouldn't be the case.
I last serviced end of January, I asked them about Fully syn, they told me top up RM140 for Helix Ultra.

Smart turn Signal?? blink.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
can u elaborate more on this??
*
It's very useful when changing lanes. U juz push the signal a little bit, the signal light will blink 3 times and then stop. So when changing lanes, u dun have to either hold the signal without it clicking, or push it up or down till it clicks, then after changed lane, have to undo it. It's in the manual, under customize ur car.

All depends on what you expect, and what is the purpose of the car. It's a driver's car. I rarely carry people in the backseats.

I've had my car for almost a year now. Still smile when I see it. Still feel good when I'm behind the wheel. And still drive with the zoom zoom spirit. wub.gif

Really? I was under the impression that the civic back seat leg space is much bigger. Maybe it's because of my seat's position.

Anyone can tell the differences between CBU and CKD?

From what I observed, seems like the foglight grill area is a slightly different design. And I saw a CKD 1.6, on the boot right side it has "GLS" or "GSL" (can't remember) emblem. Any idea what it stands for?

Any other observations?

I was at an SC once, and the service manager told me that they were repairing a Mazda 2 with lighting problem. The problem came about because of installing accessories. He was going to charge the owner quite abit for the repair.

nope, it wont void warranty smile.gif

haha, no worries about this, as when i am installing i will not cut any wires, all just plug and play so no worries, have been installing on many new car, including inspira tongue.gif
*
It wont void warranty, true. But depending on how the lights are connected, if say the small lights or headlights have any problems, they may blame it on the "installation of accessories/lights". Then they won't cover with warranty and you will have to pay for repair/replacement. So just be careful. Also depends on how friendly your SC is. So far I feel that the SCs are not so friendly.
When you say plug and play, care to be more specific?
I was also told by accessories shop that Mazda car electronics quite sensitive compared to say local cars. So they also don't dare to meddle around too much. And if anything goes wrong, they don't want to be responsible for it. Just be careful.
