@slickz sounds like you're a corporate line holder. Call your Account Manager n pester them. If you attend anyway, you can either sign up a new line or just hang around
@ccm952 Maxis is not a handphone shop. They will provide a proper MicroSIM and your old SIM will be deactivated.

Since my dad is the principal line owner, I doubt he will be able to wake up and go with me at 12am -.- .... However, I am planning bring all relevant details with me(principal line details etc.) and just attend the event, get the phone with just that...Will my plan work?

IMO, the protocol will requires the principal line owner to be there. Why don't you book a more suitable time slot which is convenient for your father to go along with you? It makes much more sense that way... = =

I booked two slots just in case...One at the midnight launch and the other is 6-10pm slot the next day...My plan b that is haha....

from the different smses received, I can only assume that Maxis is doing a screening of all that booked via their website and notify their customers on the issues that they might face. i.e the principal owner issue which has been asked a million times

well guess i have to go to nearest maxis centre and convert my prepaid to postpaid to avoid any problems later on

if you're a celcom corporate line, how do you plan to port out? you should call your celcom hotline n find out how to port out... there's definitely some paperwork involved.
