True also.. i guess after get the phone, go back straight to charge it. I hope they will help transfer my old contacts to the new micro sim card. Am using Omnia 2 now.

if you have a spare phone it is better to transfer your contacts via Bluetooth into it, just in case the unexpected happens. This is what I did, transfer into my current phone and save it under phone memory.

no bro, I mean backup your contacts saved in your sim card into your current phone memory. Just in case *touch wood* the micro sim got some issues, at least you still have your contacts stored in your current phone memory.

Guys you think it is worth taking the 24 month contract? at first I was opt for 12 month contract since the discount is not that great but later I read on maxis page stating that for 24 month contract they will extend the Iphone warranty as well.

I never use Iphone before therefore could not predict how reliable this device is or how much is the cost for the repair and maintainable.

Therefore the 24 month warranty is quite tempting.
*
you can never predict how long something lasts no matter you've own it or not. it might break in 1 day after ur warranty ends, or even 5 years from now. ppl dun get warranty because they 'predict' something is going to break. it's more of a 'just in case' thing for a peace of mind.

personally i think the 24 month contract is worth it. that depends if u plan to buy ip5 next year or not.

QUOTE(hirota @ Sep 23 2010, 09:52 AM)
no worry, i will be there on the midnite launch smile.gif
im wonder can we get the micro sim on the spot from maxis??
*
dont u think it's ridiculous if they sell you n ip4 but not a microsim? they WANT you to be on their network

yes all Iphone are like that. even 3GS needed to be activated for the first time via ITunes. I assume tonite it'll be done by Maxis when you get your phone

Yeah.. so i got my father to attend the event with my on Sat morning.. lol.. like u say.. reallly want to reduce all the probs.. its not fun to wait 4 hours there, then they tell me, this cannot that cannot..

*hope to see u guys updating photos holding the iphone at the event*

can't go on Friday.. sad.gif
*
Yeah, for those attending 10am-2pm, 2pm-6pm sessions, I suggest to get a queue number, then ask the CS politely roughly need to wait how long.

Then go for coffee break/lunch, enjoy first and come back later (but not too late tongue.gif )

Or ask your parents/principal line go shopping/walk around, while you wait. When nearly reach your queue number, make a call and ask them come back.

The Gardens event is mainly for people opting for postpaid and to sign up contract plan. For those not interest to be postpaid+contract, I suggest to get it later after 27th Sep. E.g. you wish to stick with prepaid, or you wish to retain value plan RM30, or you just want to buy the phone outright.

Hi All, I'll be getting my Iphone on Friday 2pm-6pm. Just wanna ask you guys is the antenna issue still there? need to get any case or bumpers to solve it?

Is Maxis provide us with bumpers as well?
IMO Maxis should give us the bumpers since Apple provide to their customers if buying before 30th Sept.

@Shah's
no antenna issue. go read Apple's explanation.
case program is here > http://www.apple.com/iphone/case-program/

Maxis is not doing the case program, Apple is, so follow the instructions above.

i signed up for the 3GS on the first day when launched last yr and took a 24 mth contract, but now maxis does not allow for me to take the iphone 4 with a 24 mth contract upgrade since max is 30 mths.. i still got 10 mths on my current contract, if add 24 will be 34 mths.. i'd just rather have the 24 mths warranty laa.. that's why opting for 24 mths contract..

anyone that's facing the same problem? any way to get around this? spoken to maxis CS whole morning.. they still saying they will call me back..

Just received an sms which said :

"You are welcome to attend the launch, but purchase can only be made via your Account Manager who will contact you soon"

What does this mean?

Surely like me for an example, i will get a microsim on the spot as a 1st time subscriber right? im currently using digi family plan and i find it such a hassle to port-in so i decided to get a whole new line.

i doubt they will use a standard sim and cut to fit but only if current maxis users bring their own cutter or maxis also have the cutting service
