I got hold of my Iphone 4 on Friday night after waiting for 8 hours.
I chose the iValue 1 package because my previous 12 months’ bills for my iPhone 3GS record that my local phone calls is only around 120 minutes a month.
My previous plan is a combination of Value Plus 50 and RM99 for 3G of data.
I subscribed for 3GB of data for my 3GS because I didn’t know at that time how much data will the Iphone need for my style of usage.
After 1 year on that package, my Iphone 3GS recorded that my total data usage (for 12 months) is Sent 520MB and Received 5.8 GB.
Based on the above information, I concluded that 3GB of data a month is too much for me. That is why I decided to go with iValue 1 with only 1GB of data a month.
When making that decision, I am also aware that the Iphone Data counter is just an approximate and will not be the same with the way Maxis’s keep track with my data usage.
Be that as it may, even if I add another 100% to the Iphone data counter value, 1GB of data per month will be enough for me.
Now here comes the shocker.
Since I received my iphone 4 with the new iValue 1 package on Friday night, I synch it to iTunes and upgraded its software to iOS 4.1 on Saturday (with my PC connected to home wifi all the times).
Other than that, the Iphone 4 has been used to access the lowyat forum and reading news on the Star online.
This morning (Sunday) I received an SMS from Maxis stating that my 1GB data plan has reached 800MB (in less than 48 hours).
As a precautionary measure, I have switched the Cellular Data option in the Iphone off until I visit a Maxis Centre to seek an explanation and/or to lodge a complaint over this matter.
I am interested to know if there are any other new iPhone 4 users out there receiving the same shocker?
Thank you.
im monitoring my bill since for only less than 24 hours i recieved msg from maxis tat i already exceeded my limits... i was on value first before switching to ivalue 2... a bit shocked but was thinking maybe i did some surfing after i got my iphone 4 and the plans havent change yet...
anyhow... will continue to monitor the bills as it goes...
