It depends on the installer who assigned to your order.
My installers just told me everything, even I did not ask.
Lol

StrongVPN, Answer for me is, No No. Don't ever get fooled and conned by their professional and nice web layout. That was just a good selling point. First, their service was sucks to the max. The speeds were too inconsistent especially during the daytime on US. I just managed to get 1Mbps, by using my old 4Mbps line.

Secondly, their customer service was not that friendly or helpful as you think.

You can try Hideipvpn, I used it since half year ago and so far so good. The package comes with PPTP, OpenVPN, and proxy as well.  biggrin.gif

Oh yea, I able to achieve 10Mbps by using 20Mbps Unifi. Awesome!

For streaming, VPN protocol throughout will not fast compared to proxy.
Since you have Hideipvpn account. Try to connect proxy by using HTTPS tunneling application.
The speed will be better for streaming compared VPN.

I have no problem using this way to stream videos from Hulu

Guys, I have a problem with Unifi and the wireless router they provided.

After 30 mins of surfing, I would suddenly lose connection to the wireless router.
Actually, I'm still connected (both the unifi "modem" and the wireless router) but I can't surf on the internet anymore.
What I usually do is then to switch to another wireless network and switch back to Unifi.

This is very annoying because it means I can't download stuffs which will take more than 30mins for the full download (huge files).
And then I have to start all over again.
Looks like my old Streamyx more reliable.

Anyone from Unifi care to help or any suggestions from LYN members here?

Btw, I'm using a MacBook.

What & how is your connection method when you "usually get ~400-500kb"? Is it using the standard connection from DIR-615 only?
I'm trying to figure out how do you connect the WGR614v9 prior to connect it with DIR-615 as bridging mode for you to make the comparison.
yeah before that... im on standard connection from DIR-615 only the set up from TM

I did try BlackVPN and it can stream Hulu on Unifi VIP5. On certain days I get more buffering so it's not perfect.

Btw, does anyone know when TM will start charging for VOD? Currently all I see are the 100 points - how often are they "topped" up while still free?

It is quite confusing after reading the FAQ, I have no idea how this point system work,

First they said it is free until Sept, then they said points will automatically reset/top back up to 100points on 1st day of each month, and they said u cannot get more than 100points in a month. If that 100points is free how TM gonna charge us the extra usage since it doesnt go more than 100. Everything is contradicts each other, does make any sense at all.

So I am quite confuse, are they gonna bill us for each point we use on the 100 point they gave us or there is another way of charging. hmm.gif rclxub.gif

I Emailed them asking regarding this, no response so far.

Exactly. Things are so blur with the "point system". Even the installer was not sure. I wonder if the management has not yet decided perhaps? I don't use VOD much, so have minimal point usage. Can anyone confirm if the points are topped up?
