Correct answer is the one in the email. Cancel your son's application and apply using your name. You'll then be able to cancel Streamyx FOC.
I would like to confirm this. TM CS informed me to use my wife's name for unifi since the previous streamyx was under her name. Or else they cannot convert it and you will be charge for cancelling streamyx.

Hi Guys,

Im currently a streamyx RM88 per month user.

Well, i've been seriously considering getting Unifi.

But first I'd need to clarifiy something with some existing users first:

1. Can i transfer my existing fixed line number to the unifi line? I'd like to cancel off my existing line so that i can save the extra rm30 rental

2. How much will be my first billing? If i choose the VIP5, is it RM149 + RM149? For this additional RM149, is it refundable?

Looking forward for these answers from you guys because the guy at the counter couldnt give me a proper answer. Thank you so much
*
1. No you cannot transfer the number. Unifi will give you a new phone and new phone number. Just cancel your old phone line to save the RM30 rental.

2. is it RM149 (current month) + RM149(advance 1 month) + phone charges. Not sure what you mean on refundable, maybe not.

Exactly. Things are so blur with the "point system". Even the installer was not sure. I wonder if the management has not yet decided perhaps? I don't use VOD much, so have minimal point usage. Can anyone confirm if the points are topped up?
*
I think TM have not decided on this stuff yet, so enjoy it while its free. smile.gif

the FAQ said it is free until Sept, so it is still quite confuse who is right/wrong. The system is not following what the FAQ and announcement said.

It will be a HUGE fail if we use up all the 100 points then at the end of the month only realize that arent free & TM drop a bomb in ur bill.
*
I think a public outcry will make them reversed it, at least temporary, just like the bandwith cap.

So, does it mean that i can't just buy 1 from friend and run both under 1 account? I am serious to get a 2nd unit but TM is not selling it even if I am willing to buy.
*
Maybe you can 'borrow' from someone and try. Many people will be interested to know whether it can be done.

QUOTE(yoda @ Sep 20 2010, 02:33 PM)
not sure if it helps...just sharing....it was known issue that DIR 615 having issue with wifi n-mode. It doesn't strike me since i am using wired and old Notebook which only support b,g mode and my DIR mode is set to all b,g,n enable . I just got new notebook last weekend which has the n-mode.

It took me a while to sort out..was forgotten it was mentioned here before....all sort of problem came...firstly, no connection to internet, wifi status show no internet access... after a few time restting here and there  a few times i manage to get connected. but everything is not running smoothly. Youtube bufferring, Local ping 200+ms (vs ~10ms normally), Speedtest show only 1.5M at most. It really puzzling as everything is fine on the  pc...
after change the setting b,g mode only on the DIR 615....voilaa....the connection was back to normal..

conclusion...DIR 615 is useless for Wifi-n mode
*
Any disadvantage of switching off the n mode then?

i pay RM 55 for Astro which i don't really have time to watch. I don't have HBO or sports (not really a sports fan). I come home around 7 every day, and by the time me and the family finish dinner and relax it's 8pm, so we watch the news and then most likely something i downloaded LOL.

I'm happy with Universal and SyFy, and if it's just 5 points for a month of each for now...it's likely i'll wave goodbye to astro really soon.
*
Just bear in mind that we do not know how much (in RM) that 5 points will be in the future. Maybe you should wait till the pricing has been confirmed, who knows VIP20 may be better....

hey guys, is it Unifi bundle with my existing phone line or the phone is separated?

Eg:
I pay rm149 for phoneline + 5mb? or i need to pay rm149 + my existing phone line usage?
*
QUOTE(tommyfai @ Oct 6 2010, 05:29 PM)
separated.. your 1st option is correct.. phoneline + 5 mb + hypptv

note that unifi phoneline also have charges which what you use only. no rent charges. unifi phoneline is free for calling tm fixed line.
*
You can also terminate your existing phone line to save cost, but you will lose the number.

RM200 ++ not worth it. Rather go buy full set from Amazon.
*
Yup, really not worth it since it can be easily got for much less than that.

But the channels of RM6 to RM9 each is good deal to me.
