Can any of the VIP20 users now confirm that they are getting the 8 "old" premium channels?

I subscribed in April, and I've yet to get back the premium channels. Asked their CS and was told that they haven't heard anything from the higher ups.

Remember, the premium channels you're apparently supposed to get is the original 8 "old" premium channels. Not the "new" premium channels like SyFy, etc.

If this is true, I guess this could be something tentris can bring up with the TM Management.

I have a quick question, I recently applied for unifi and due for installation on 28/11. I have an existing streamyx / phone line under my wife's name.

Do I need to terminate this service at TMPoint or it will be automatic (since my address is now tied to unifi)?

Added on November 18, 2010, 12:17 ambtw, just got TP Link Gigabit Router 1043ND

very impressed by it features... @.@ out of my expectation when buy.., since the range price is bellow RM 200, much cheaper compared to another brand with same feature... Some more got 3 antenna port, very good for a user like me who stay in a complex and thick wall building

now really can control my home network effectively, IP reservation, Bandwith Control, Storage sharing and much more...

very recommended Router for addition for UniFi user, bridged with the Dir 615, very good combo

You have to go to TM Point to make the cancellation of your streamyx and home line.

PPPoE gives you a single endpoint IP, but those other IPs are routed to your end of the line as well. If someone pings those other IPs from the internet while your PPPoE is up, it will come down your PPPoE line. You need to have your router know how to deal with it.

I gave up getting the DIR615 to work nicely for my VIP20+5IP. For an office setup, with a decent router at your end you would want something like this:

CODE

        PPPoE
          |
          | <WAN>
          |
          |a
     +---------+
     | your    |<DMZ>
     | router  |--------+---+---+---+
     +---------+ b      |   |   |   |
          |<LAN>        c   d   e  f
          |             (servers)
     _____|_______________
     | | | | | | | | | | |
     (NAT PCs)

I use an old PC running Linux as a router/firewall for my office. I seem to be getting a PM on how to set it up every other week or so, so I think I will spend some time and write a HOWTO soon. *grin*

It works fine even if you set your end to dynamic, TM's side will always push the first of your static IPs to you once it recognizes your user name and password.

Are you using the Dlink wifi? If you are, it could be a problem with your wifi. You look connected, but there's nothing going through.

Added on November 18, 2010, 2:19 pmBtw, just disconnect and reconnect your wifi to see if that works.

TM is not clear about this. Some say can, some say cannot and some that say can, end up cannot and kena double bill. So to be safe, better manually apply for Unifi and cancel Streamyx + Landline separately.

Could be that they are doing daily maintenance. Is this on a daily basis?

That's great news for the VIP20 users. Anyways, thanks for making all this effort for the LYN + Unifi community. It's great to know we have capable people helping to make lives easier for the community.

Btw, can you help me ask if they have a clear communication on whether existing Streamyx/Landline users migrating to Unifi can be migrated automatically + retain old phone number, instead of having to cancel separately? E.g. My dad has been a TM user for more than 30 years and he had to cancel the 30 year old home phone number + streamyx account when migrating. This also had to be done separately. It's sad losing that old number and will my dad be considered just a 1 year old account? It might be too late for me, but I'm sure other new sign ups would appreciate this feature.

TM Contractor guy is handling over and final testing the UniFi at my apartment

Definite will use Biz5 as startup :-)

RM 199 per month should be okay for unlimited usage and no fair usage policy . Screw iptv watching Astro Beyond much more better

The box

[attachmentid=1888036]

The testing BTU with battery small to power it to test link from the box to modem

[attachmentid=1888039]

Getting reading for loss signal below 25 is good

Bro, Unifi in your apartment uses VDSL or fiber? Which apartment you live in Setiawangsa?

I am using Dlink Wifi, and have been resetting the Zte VDSL modem and router for so many times. IPTV is dead, so is the Voip dial tone. On the ZTE modem, the DSL light is on though, but internet keeps blinking and the VOIP is off.

Called up Unifi helpline... such crap service.
