QUOTE(Boomeraangkid @ Sep 14 2010, 08:47 PM) hey, want to ask. Im considering the N8 and Samsung Galaxy S. My question now is, will Samsung be releasing any Android phones with a cam like the N8's or close to it? i would love to get the Samsung Galaxy S now but the letdown is the cam Hi,For me, better go for SGS, then buy a pretty decent camera.. Why? 1. Symbian kinda out dated. Even Nokia also didnt make any phones for their upcoming high end product any more.. 2. Difficult to find an apps or games, as not many developers into it... 3. Androids got tons of apps, games & widgets, also can get full functional apps as some of them are ads-supported.. 4. no matter how big the pixel is, still camera phone cant beat the camera.. I am also a Symbian users, Symbian fan boy.. I use N-gage, N82, N85 & lastly Satio.. After using Android, u will see how u missed the greatness of Android, and realize how out-dated Symbian is.. Btw, this is just my opinion.. |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Sep 14 2010, 06:55 PM) The one that was on samsung apps required activation cause vlingo used to charge for the app. Now it's free. yea lo, i just got to know just now that it requires data connection .. should have read this thread 1st .. hahaSad thing is that the app requires data/internet connection to work. QUOTE(mengsuan @ Sep 14 2010, 08:12 PM) IF you happened to have a hard brick, showing a pic of phone--!-->PC, then you've ended up having a paper weight brick. 1. agreedFor those who have 3 button recovery disabled, even rooting poses significant risk. I wish you good luck. Added on September 14, 2010, 8:16 pm I'm curious to know. Would Maxis or other Samsung dealer let you break the seal and honor return when the phone does not get into recovery mode? The rules are not clearly defined. You may have regarded a SGS without recovery mode as defective, but would Samsung consider that? So far, only Samsung Canada responded on their Facebook fan page. The owner of the fan page is yet to be known; it could be false news. Samsung in all other countries, especially UK, have denied exchanging the phone. In other words, I doubt someone can deliberately avoid getting a recovery-disabled SGS. Rather, it's a luck game. 2. if i am not wrong, some xda forumers from italy manage to exchange their 3btn disabled sgs for a new one ... read it yesterday, its either italy or spain coz they were writting in either spanish or italian .. QUOTE(MYstombox @ Sep 14 2010, 08:56 PM) If you brick it and can't even enter recovery. Just send it for warranty. Say it suddenly cannot start. good point If they themselves can't even go into recovery mode, what makes you think they can check anything? QUOTE(emino @ Sep 14 2010, 10:17 PM) Without data plan, I would say your experience with the phone will be crippled. Its still a good phone with great multimedia function, but, yeah... nah, i don have a data plan .. doesnt seems much crippled but of course i got wifi here and there .. hahahai would depends on the user, if the user r always on a go and loves to check online stuff then data plan would be great ... if someone like me, if need data connection then just try find a place with wifi, u can easily spot those guys standing beside starbucks, etc |

QUOTE(Cyclone1 @ Sep 14 2010, 10:54 PM) Are all the SGS disabled the 3 button recovery? Not necessarily all. Assuming what Samsung Canada published is true, the fix should be here by end of this week.I hav purchase a SME set from our fellow lyn and im afraid the 3 button recovery is disabled =( Froyo rumoured to be released on 24th September in Finland: http://androidspin.com/2010/09/13/rumor-sa...23rd-september/ |

Go here http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
Find which firmware you like, i'd recommend JM7. Read first page of this thread about how to flash firmware, re-flash it. |
