hi..thank you every1 for replying. Just found out that is actually the port-forwarding problem. Common sense tell me that all internet should be able to do port forwarding but the man that helped me install the cctv said that maxis broadband is not able to do so..

if that is the case (monthly limit, not one time) then we can really save some money there by using the free minutes...good to know.

Added on May 30, 2012, 5:22 pmanother thing i notice is the modem and phone warranty for 1 year only. if the modem is hit by lightning strike after 1 year, can we get other brand modem or must we buy from maxis for the same model?

Can i replace my own router or switches? Because I have devices using a networking like CCTV, Printer Sharing (LAN Port), HDD Server Sharing. How about the DYNDNS? can update automatic if use their router mb_799? Thanks

Any Internet access which is faster than 256kbps is considered as Broadband for Income Tax Relief (up to Year 2012 only)

I don't know if i'm rite or wrong.. M salesperson said, as long unifi not capping their data, so do the M follow the unifi.. So enjoy.. BUT M very 'kacau' if u'r hardcore in torenting... The speed will reduce to 512kbps if you caught in torenting...
So the maxis FTTH will catch those using torrent and throttle their speed? Throttle speed means torrent download speed or whole download speed?

Just back from Maxis centre they say each month need pay rm118 + 6% GST too. Then next time if over limit quota the speed will very very low. Over limit call charges for maxis mobile & non maxis mobile rm0.90 per min on subsequent charges, charges to non maxis fixed line local call rm0.05 per min. For those already get the wifi modem need to ask this modem can connect how many LAN cables?

Actually you can download the modem manual at their website and see how much their lan port is. I've already read the manual, it has 4 lan port.

Thanks your info. Between do you think this Maxis Home can plug into my home alarm connection? Nowaday my Streamyx have small box to spread 2 line between home alarm & modem. Do you think can do this also?
