If not mistake, small cable can't handle large current,So maybe the cable bottleneck the current draw to your mobo.Usually the cable will become hot if it can't handle large current.

QUOTE(kherel77 @ Jun 28 2012, 10:10 AM) Yaa...have to try & error sometimes. Just buy this proc,Btw, how far your QX can go bro? Worth to buy it~? Scared me with the price-tag even i know it's QX... need to find better cooler, since idle is at 36-40 and the temperature ramp up so fast if open an application. But at stock speed, and run prime 95 the max temperature is 55C using Zalman CNPS9700. I try crank up to 3.33GHz by adjusting the multiplier, max temperature is 60C same cooler. But 3GHz is enough for now |

Hey guys, do you know what's the most reasonable OC settings for the Q8200 on an ASUS P5G41T-M LX? I know its not really a good overclocker like the Q6600 but I've seen results where some can get it to operate above 3GHz
I'm still new when it comes to adjusting the voltage, so pointers are appreciated. By the way, which temperature is the main that one should monitor? Since there are 4 cores... This post has been edited by UserU: Jun 28 2012, 06:34 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(saturn85 @ Jun 29 2012, 06:40 AM) yes, the processor silicon. Yeap, same mobo but recently i added the extension for better cable management...oh, so the one 412mhz stable on 1.36v is a different board with this one? Use coretemp is one of the best for Core2 series proc. HWmonitor sometimes a little more accurate, but depends very much on mobo chips to transfer the data to ur screen.
From my experience, these are more of the better procs for oc results: Q6-series, E6-series, E7-series, E8-series, Q9x50-series, And of coz the QX9650. For the less oc-able type of proc, i think are these: E4-series, Q8-series, QX6800 (very hot and doesn't make it easy for u to reach 4ghz) I'm not too sure about the Q9400, Q9300 and Q9505. Have tried Pentium dual Core and E2-series and E5-series are quite oc-able too. Didn't touch the E6-series though. |

QUOTE(saturn85 @ Jun 30 2012, 05:53 AM) see whether got cpu temperature or those tmpin0, tmpin1, tmpin2... The TMPIN0 is only displayed for my graphics card. The CPU temperatures are displayed on cores#0 till 3, but core#0 seems to have the highest readings. I managed to OC it by 15%, since its on a stock cooler. Temperature hovers near 60C even on idle. On a side note, may I know how should I change the RAM timings? I have some knowledge on the speed against the clock cycles but I'm lost when it comes to tightening them. This post has been edited by UserU: Jun 30 2012, 02:17 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

Pentium dual core E6000 series are the same thing with E5000 except the FSB is higher @ 1066 and multiplier is lower. Overclockability will be limit by FSB + lower multi. it is rumor that some E5000 have trouble hitting 333FSB cap at ~300. (most probably the ealier version of E5000, E6000 should be easier on higher FSB. mine E5800 can hit 333 without issue tho. This post has been edited by Boldnut: Jun 30 2012, 11:16 PM |
