can be the silicon degrade also.

If the extension cable size is smaller than the psu cable I think maybe can effect.Did you check the cable,is it hot or not?

If not mistake,small cable can't handle large current,
So maybe the cable bottleneck the current draw to your mobo.Usually the cable will become hot if it can't handle large current.

I maybe wrong,but try confirm back by exclude the extension cable.

Just buy this proc,
need to find better cooler, since idle is at 36-40 and the temperature ramp up so fast if open an application.
But at stock speed,and run prime 95 the max temperature is 55C using Zalman CNPS9700.
I try crank up to 3.33GHz by adjusting the multiplier,max temperature is 60C same cooler.
But 3GHz is enough for now

i have no idea what to do with my Q9550... my mobo failed 2months ago.. hard to find socket 775 mobo now

mine is E5800 dual core cpu. 1.29v @ 3.66GHz. (333x11 multi)

stock is 1.28v @ 3.2GHz. (200x16 multi)

anyone provide step by step tutorial?
cause maybe 1 mistake will spoil my cpu. thanks =)
